An excellent question. Perhaps the Russians will secure the territory they can, declare "victory", cease hostilities. If course a Ukrainian insurgency is likely. But frankly, I have no idea.

It will end with the Russian military pulling back due to the heavy losses caused by thd Ukrainians being armed with advanced anti-aircraft missiles, anti-tank missles and artillery that's being directed by us intelligence to fire on Russian positions linked by drone recon and satellite imagery all of which is evening the odds for the Ukrainians. Of course also the mass cheap drones and towns of western weaponry.

Putin is in the postion that if he stays in Ukraine the Russian army will bleed and conscription will be resisted and eventually he will be toppled as leader. If Putin withdraws from Ukraine he will find he has enemies even from his staunchly supporters for making Russia look weak. Either way Putin is in survival mode not just for his political career but his life. He needs to win and he miscalculated and walked into America's trap, the Russian army should be in complete control of Ukraine by now and Russia and the Russian military look weak.

Can't see Taiwan being part of China any time soon. The Chinese are watching the war in Ukraine and as most of their equipment is of Russian design and the Taiwanese having had 70 years to prepare for a Chinese invasion and have a lot of cutting edge American weaponry. It would cost the Chinese too much to take Taiwan and they'd get little out of it.

The administration changes but the policies are the same. The Chinese economy is not as strong as it once was, most people still live in poverty, the economy realies on cheap labor but us companies are looking at other countries for that and with the next wave of automation coming a lot of those labor jobs are going. The corrupt communist regime in China has back a lot of bad projects, they even have badly built new cities that are empty

Yes they've gotten stronger but a 3rd world country can only go up. China is completely dependent on the rest of the world buying their goods, India is rising as a competitor. The Chinese military us still weak.
