Do you think wealthy billionaire princes are bad for not sharing their riches with the poor?

I was watching YouTube and there was a prince in Saudi Arabia that owned multi millionaire dollar cars as well as floating cars that can travel on water and thousands of exotic animals as well as multiple animals that were the most expensive versions of those creatures in the world and I got angry they are wasting money on luxuries when people in this world are hungry and dying because they can't afford medicine. I was almost seething with hatred.

There's a lot of strength you have to project as a prince preparing himself for potential kingship. You cannot assume they were raised like you and share the same values. They don't live in your world, your way of thinking.

I don't want to sound like I'm defending that class of People, nor do I want to sound condescending to you, but this reminds me of the speech one of the Lanisters in game of thrones said.

"The lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of sheep."

a lot of secular beliefs are sheep ideologies. There's a completely different world out there with wolves and all manner of dangerous creature's.

I don’t have any proof or facts that princesses don’t donate to poor. I know that princess Diana donated a large portion of money and time to different countries and organizations. So I cannot accurately answer this question. The question would need to be rephrased.

If seeing the good fortune of others makes you see that with hatred, you need to work on two things: gratitude for what you have and avoiding jealousy of others, and perhaps joining and participating in charity often. The fact is that there will always be rich people and poor people. Always. Even in communist countries, it always happens. We can’t control what people do, and just wanting to more is going to make us angry and resentful (as you’re experiencing). Stop focusing on what other people do or don’t do and focus on what you can do

People who inherit money often don’t respect nor manage it well. They also never knew what it was like to be poor or middle class. This not always the case but unfortunately makes sense. However I will say that prince William tried to have a good heart. I remember reading a story where years ago he intentionally slept on the streets for 2 nights to see what it was like to be homeless.

With all that said this “Robin Hood” socialist idea of taxing the rich and feeding the poor may be well intentioned but its dangerous. It’s a complicated rabbit hole discussion but aggressive taxation ultimately harms the middle class and stymies their efforts at upward mobility.

No, I don't think wealthy people should be required to give their wealth away to poor people. It's not a requirement (specifically in the US and many other places).

Would it be nice of them to do that? Sure. But when you're very rich, then everyone is suddenly a poor person you're giving your $$ away to.

In the US, there are many people who cry out - tax the rich. However, our tax system is extremely progressive with the top 10% of earners paying about 75-80% of the total taxes collected by the Gov't. In fact, the bottom 48% actually ZERO taxes, meaning the top 52% income earners are paying 100% of the taxes right now.

So... it's their wealth. They have it and only their character will show IF and where they decide to use it as charity. As an example, you may not like the man, but Trump NEVER took penny in income as President. 100% of his $400,000 annual salary was given away during the 4 years he was President. He gave away $1.6 million.

While, I do think splurging riches like that is too show offy, I don't think they should feel obligated to share the riches they or they're parents worked for.. They are not the reason people are poor and starving, corruption is.. And even with all the riches theybhave logistically, they could only feed so many people and only for a short time at most.. The best way a rich person could help poor and starving people is to teach them how not to be poor or starving again..

Maybe start a company? A lot of the reason people are poor is low or no job skills, and an attitude of entitlement that they don’t need to work to eat. Modern welfare nations have taught people that all they need to do is exist to eat and live somewhere and get a phone and get healthcare. Well that’s probably the least sustainable thing humans are doing right now. Having one part of the population provide for not only itself but the other part is not sustainable long-term. Think of how cheap good and services would be if labor force participation was greater.

@Sixgunsound I agree, but I think that lazy sentiment is more abundant in Western nations honestly.. Most poor people in the West are not starving, not saying it's impossible for them. not to, just that it's highly unlikely.. But other nations outside of the West have people ready to work and learn.. You could definitely teach those people how to earn their own capital..

People have always been that way and it is sad. A rich relative of mine just died and thought he was better than his whole family because of his wealth hundreds of millions no one really knows he was secretive
