Look at Sweden, a country that has some of the toughest gun restrictions on earth. Whole cities and towns in something resembling lockdown from sundown to sunup.

A little town in Norway just reported it's 5th lethal shooting in 30 days

Denmark, a country where it's nearly impossible to get a gun, just had a mall shooting with several fatalities. Furthermore it's capital Copenhagen, which is heavily infested by Muslims, have mostly shootings as these people fight over the drug market, or simply details regarding their invisible friends in the clouds

Parts of Germany, another heavily Muslim infested country, is basically considered unsafe for people of German descent to venture out after dark.

London is plagued by heavy crime including gun violence

Somehow areas like rural Texas where everyone has at least one firearm and carries it around at any given time, and the area where I live in Colorado mountains... somehow we don't have that. You'd have to be more than average stupid to break into ie. My house, or try to assault the Texan in boots and hat on the street. Chances are it's you that'll end up dead.

Really @Pterodon? I gained qualifications as a marksman by the time I was 16. In England. Gaining a firearms license is actually reasonably straightforward. All you need to be able to do is demonstrate a competence with the weapon in question - rifles in my case - membership of a sporting club with a safe environment for their use and a proficiency to be able to use said weapon for hunting.

Obviously, only once you pass background checks regarding criminal activity is a license granted. A home inspection to confirm the relevant security is in place in terms of separate storage for the firearm and the ammunition.

It's basically what's considered "common sense" in the civilised world.

Your government codified ownership of muskets, not assault rifles. Explicitly for the purpose of maintaining a well regulated militia, not an angry mob. Apparently your society has some difficulty with the difference between the two. Violent assault in the home is unusual and - unlike in America - almost never fatal. In the rare cases where it is, the assailant generally entered the home with the specific intention of harming the homeowner and brings the weapon with them. Home invasions in America seem to be more likely to be violent when there's a weapon in the home owned by the homeowner, and in over half those the homeowners own weapon was used against them.

In addition, I don't remember the last time I heard a report that an illegally obtained weapon was used in a mass shooting. Columbine, Uvalde, Sandy Hook, name a single mass event where some ignorant fuckwit illegally held the weapons illegally.

And they have very few knives on the market capable of stabbing 30 different people fatally in under ten seconds. No matter how skilful the swordsman wielding it.

For years, the rate of firearm related homicides in the U. S. hoovered around 16,000 until 2000 when it began to rise. It's currently around 20,000. Out of 330 million citizens and around 450 million people in the country at any one time. You do the math.

The FBI says that 80% of firearm related homicides are gang related. That means the 80 million or so gun owners who are not in gangs are responsible for 4,000 or so homicides.

Considering the saved from attempted suicide rate in the UK is so much higher because it's easier to save someone from overdose or hanging etc than if they put a gun in their mouth and fire through their brain stem, and the majority of survivors make a full recovery both physically and mentally you're showing your ignorance.

If a person is home of course a burglary or a home invasions will end in violence.. Especially if the invading party is armed.. As for the weapons at home point.. I highly doubt if somebody has a weapon in their home that a burglar can get to it and then kill them with it.. 1. They'll most likely keep it in a safe place, 2. There's a high chance they'll hear the burglar and get the weapon to dispatch of them before.

As for the mass shootings, I didn't mention anything about the assailants unlawfully carrying the fire arm, just that they specifically targeted zones where there were strict gun laws.. Where they were sure little if anybody were carrying a firearm.. People no matter if they have a weapon of their own or not think twice about going to a place where other people have guns.

Also, I don't think the size of the knife matters, As long as it's sharp enough to do the job, they'll keep stabbing..
