Why are republicans so obsessed with saying no to any type of healthcare reform when they don't even pay for it?

They’re automatically against anything proposed by Democrats and they wish to protect the obscene profits the industry rakes in. They’ve convinced their voters to oppose what is in their own best interest by making them think reforming the health care system will cost them money. In reality, we’re already paying for each others health care. Most Americans have employer based insurance and that cost is figured into the prices we pay for goods and services……. and we pay the highest price on the planet for a health care system that isn’t even rated among the best. A government run system that caps costs would save money and could potentially be better quality.

Republican base is blue collar. Almost all blue collar jobs have good health insurance so they don’t want to have to pay for everyone else’s. Also blue collar people don’t trust doctors as much (pharma corporations) and would rather use home remedies as often as possible. You saw this during covid where republicans were very much against a mandated vaccine. Republicans hate the big pharma lobbiest because they think they are corrupt. Which they are. They put out drugs that their studies have been know to show severe side affects but all they care about is profits.
