Why do Republicans complain about a problem and then vote against the solution?

Politicians do this scumbag thing of tacking on a bunch of things unrelated to the subject they say a bill is to resolve, and to vote for the main bill you have to also vote yet on these ancillary things.

Both sides do this. So take the time to read what else is in the bill. Don't just read the title of the bill. Because another scumbag thing Politicians do is naming a bill something that sounds nice as a title but the bill itself doesn't actually match the title

The bill isn't about fixing the shortage, it is written to increase FDA funding. Their supposed solution is to allow other brands to be used for federal welfare programs, namely Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC). You want the FDA to get a $28 million dollar raise so that they can change their own restrictions on paper concerning what they allow purchase of within in the welfare state.

The reason why there is a shortage to begin with is due to a formula recall. The FDA regulates all commercially available infant formulas. So what really happened is that the FDA just extorted the American tax payer by creating legal barriers to acquiring infant formula which they have no constitutional authority to do, so that they could get a raise in funding.

What a silly question, it is like saying why do Democrats vote to fix a problem they created. Had they not created it, through their own policies it would not be a problem.

The government can create problems but rarely fixes them. They should of prevented this rather than try to correct it.

WASHINGTON – On a bipartisan 231 to 192 vote, the House today passed H. R. 7790, a supplemental appropriations bill to provide $28 million in emergency funding to give the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the resources it needs to address the urgent infant formula shortage.
The money is going to the FDA to look into the situation and distribute it as they see fit. That money will pay someone or a group of people to look at what can be done about it. I would vote no also and set aside the money for fixing the problem once they look into it and have a plan.
