Did US soccer "fail" women players?

Without evidence and relying solely on a "special report" by a female lawyer, women are again forming a mob to accuse male soccer coaches of sexual misconduct. Should they be forced to prove any of it this time?

What is the definition of “proof?” I had two young coworkers tell me the owner of a small business I worked for, decades ago, that the owner smoked pot with them and made homosexual advances.

They worked there at different times and didn’t know each other.

A sworn statement isn’t proof, but it’s evidence. When it’s years of complaints, from different people, who may not know each other, describing the same behavior, that is either impossibly strong coincidence or proof!

The number of allegations does not reflect the truth of those allegations. This is a common logical fallacy called "appeal to popularity" or the "bandwagon fallacy" :

If the accusations are publicized against a wealthy, public figure, I can see the bandwagon effect. But multiple, very similar complaints, at different times, from people who don’t know each other, or weren’t aware of the other complaints, I can’t see dismissing as a bandwagon.

You assume they don't know each other and didn't conspire. You may be very wrong about that. Women often simply have to hear about accusations to join in.

Innocent until proven guilty. Especially after the misandrist / feminist MeToo movement full of false rape accusations. Women should be required to provide even more proof before anyone bothers to look at the man/men being accused.

In America at this time people are considered innocent until proven guilty. It is up for debate how much longer we will be able to say this.

No, here in the US, our law requires actual evidence, not just allegations and rumors and gossip.

I think that if there was any criminal liability this announcement would have been made differently and made by law enforcement. It wasn't which suggests a lack of objective evidence.

Is it a crime to ignore complaints of sexual misconduct, or simply immoral? If the latter, why is it wrong to expose that immorality?

I don't really have any opinions about this, other than to say that I think it is wrong to punish people over unproven accusations.
