I dont know. Race can defined differently on all corners of the world. Some say Mexicans are “white”. Which there are very light skinned Mexicans on the Pacific side.

But I never understood “race” or even “ethnicity”. I can understand where you're from and ancestry, wanting to preserve that. But some white American racists are taking that to extremes and saying they want to preserve their european roots. Bitch your American.

Italians are white and Latino, there are different types of whites.

Italian from Cagliari.

Italians are mostly Mediterranean whites, they have light, white or slightly tanned skin with light or intense blush on the cheeks.

Italians are a sub-group of white people. The romans spoke an Indo-European language and had the similar pagan gods but with different names as the Greeks and the Celts. They have a higher degree of dna from early European farmers thus why they are more tanned skinned than the more northern Europeans who share less of the Early European farmer dna. Also, some Italians probably have north African and middle eastern genes due to mixing in the south of Italy which can also be another reason why most Italians look generally darker in the south of Italy. Northern Italians can be very white, due to mixing between romans, celts and Germanic people.

Latina applies to Hispanic people in (central and south America) who can be or have a mix of southern European (Spanish & Portuguese), native American, sub-Sahara African, north African, and Jewish ancestry.

Italians are White Europeans. Spanish are White Europeans too, so that means Mexicans are actually half White even though many don't realize it. :)
