He makes a good point but it's a little tacky and lazy to equate it to cancer.
A few years ago I was chatting to a manager who didn't shortlist a particular employee who went for promotion as he lacked both the qualifications and experience required. The candidate immediately played the race card and reported it to the commission for racial equality. They dismissed his idiotic claim but it caused a massive headache for the company.
The real reason so many places have these equality policies in place isn't to promote diversity, it's to cover their own asses against false accusations of discrimination.
