watch a tv series from about 20 years ago. All different races and genders are interacting throughout the whole show, getting along and working together and there's no miracle needed. No one has an inclusion orgasm when a black cop is the car with his white cop partner. not an event. This woke cancer is the most destructive thing ever.

I voted yes. The obsession with racial and gender diversity has nothing to do with looking at people as individual human beings. It focuses on immutable characteristics and group identities at the expense of what is much more worthy, which is the uniqueness of the individual regardless of race and/or gender.

An obsessed focus on diversity maintains a strint focus on race, and it is difficult to imagine becoming a race-neutral society when we are told to constantly attend to race as a qualifying factor.

America in it's earliest modern days was set up so people of all walks of life could come here and make a name for themselves without having to be born into wealth or royalty. This master plan never really fully shook out because certain people (in any country) always believe that opportunities, education, wealth, power, etc, should only belong to a certain few who conveniently look like them. These certain people will never subscribe to a diverse world where at the bare minimum we offer equal opportunity to all because that idea doesn't benefit them at all in their minds.

As far as gender diversity, that is something that has always been there. It is just now in these modern times, people are becoming more socially aware of it because of social media, tv programming, protests, etc. I don't think it's unhealthy to let someone live their truth because they are the ones that are dealing with it, not everyone else. I think it is other people who are obsessed with them that make it unhealthy.

This is probably one of the biggest issues in America today. Obama started this in 2008. He appointed people according to race instead of experience and merit. He began the "cops are racist" rant and divided the country into different groups, pandering to specific ones. If America is ever going to move forward as a country it has to be done with everyone working together instead of dividing it further.
Joe "The Big Guy" Biden announced yesterday the appointment of a woman to a top military post and remarked that he is creating a government that looks like America. I was not sure what he meant. Maybe the government is a screwed up mess like the rest of the county?

I am a New Zealander American and New Zealand white people are nothing like USA white people.

But in USA think we are the same. And my special culture is not appreciated because the ideologues have their own fixed idea on how the politics surrounding all this diversity stuff works.

I am also of Romanian descent. A culture of an objectively long oppressed and victimized people. But in American academic theory this is not a group considered victimized. And in fact poverty wrecked East Europeans are officially considered 'privileged'.

Also, American leftists do not acknowledge social class because it sounds too 'Marxist and communist.
Which is hysterical because in rich 'cultural Marxist theory, rich minorities, like California Chinese, are often portrayed as victims of the poor masses.

Are the reactions of individual Americans pertaining to race and gender in America unhealthy? I believe that some people go overboard with both gender and race. Not everything is racially motivated and not everything is because of your gender. Sometimes people just don't get along. And that's where our brains come in, instead of coming to violence have a conversation with an individual. I think America is heading in the right direction with the equality for all its peoples. I believe that the people that have come forward to shed light upon inequality using intellectual thoughts words processes and actions, is 100% correct.

I don't think they want diversity. They are far from obsessed with anything like that. Even online I have encountered so many rude people who were treating me badly just because I'm an Indian. I can't imagine what the Indians who actually grow up there have to go through. They are most certainly never allowed to fully develop as successful and confident people. All those who succeed do it alongside all the racism they face.
America even had a supremely racist president.
I am so grateful that I was born and raised in my country as I am allowed to feel beautiful and useful here.

both sides are obsessed with it--one side wants it and the other will die before they see it happen. most of the right will die for their hatred... it's gotten to the point of retardation. Trump let covid run run while to keep people from wanting to come here which costed us thousands in deaths and billions of dollars... like his wall. now, look at Florida--because Disney stood up to DeSatinis's anti-LGBT bill--he's stopping their self-governing... what the right doesn't understand is Disney paid for the infrastructure... now, the won't have to... the tax payers will. so... how does Disney suffer if they're actually saving money?

Since it's inception, for about a period of 246 years, the United States was obsessed with whiteness. The idea of diversity is a recent phenomenon. Even then, despite the fact that it is more recent, you have white people complaining about "diversity" when most of the characters in shows that you watch, Hollywood celebrities, talk show hosts, media personnel and so on are white. But how dare us Black people ask for a fair representation, right? What a joke.

Generally I'd say no. We often discuss race and gender in regards to solving social issues that are either ignored or were previously in the process of resolution but were halted between the 80s and 90s.

There can be an overabundance of representation of these topics in some spheres as a means of attractive greater capital.
