Did you know January 6th committee is/was completely irrelevant?

So (surprise surprise) the democrats on the "committee" about January 6 which has cost lots of tax payer money and interrupted half the programs during prime time tv, now have reached an agreement. They subpoena Trump. This happens approximately 3 weeks before elections (of course a complete coincidence).

Personally I feel they could have made it seem more real if one had voted against. "One nay and 8 yay" would have made it seem more like a real life event. The totally unanimous thing was what really gave them away. "All the kids want candy " - what a surprise!!

But some people argue that it's completely irrelevant and always was

As long as Republicans get a slight foot in the door the whole subpoena and the "committee" is simply a show with no impact

And the idea that more people would vote blue after seeing the disaster that has been over the past 21 months or so, some argue is completely impossible

I am absolutely convinced that what this is really about is the Democrats are pissed off at Trump for dissing them when they wanted him to run as a Democrat. Then he ran as a Republican instead of a Democrat. The Dems in power can't handle that kind of rejection. If he had run as a Democrat and won (which was entirely possible) the Dems would have overlooked every bit of this. It wouldn't even be in the news.

Both parties can be vengeful when someone crosses over, but this thing with Trump is completely over the top. Even with Nixon it stopped being news after he was out of office. Everything went back to normal. But with Trump, they just can't let it go. They are completely obsessed with it to the point that I don't believe a damn thing they say any more.

Well yes, the committee and the hearings and the subpoena doesn't mean a god damn thing. I think most people know that. It won't make a difference. The far left who believes this is a miracle would have voted lib anyway no matter what, and the right all know this is a show

1. Most people made up their minds one way or the other long ago.
2. Stacking the committee as they did made it easier to dismiss any action they took as biased.
3. In my opinion no substantial new info came out, so nothing that would change minds was produced.
4. A subpoena for Mr. Trump, who was POTUS on January 6, 2021, pretty much guaranteed a court case over privilege and separation of powers.
5. Barring something unforeseen, the Republicans will win the midterms for the House in a few weeks and then, in January when they take over, dissolve the committee.
