I think Trump's endorsement of really crappy candidates was a big factor in some races that the R's would have normally won. Dobbs probably pushed some turnout. But really the biggest factor is that roughly 90% of D's and R's will vote for a flaming bag of dog sh*t if that is what their party nominates. This and starting off with a fairly close margin in the House and an even Senate pretty much meant no one was going to get a huge majority no matter what.
