How many white people died when they freed the slaves?

Question

As we all know, back in the day, black people in Africa sold other black people as slaves.

They were brought to this great country, where their kids and grandkids etc. Live great lives today.

When white people decided to free the slaves it wasn't easy or free. Many many many white people died in the fight to free the slaves that had been sold as slaves by other black people.

Do you know how many died?

That depends on which country you're talking about.

Britain made slavery illegal long before America did and to end the slave trade sent the Royal Navy to destroy slaveyards along the coast of Africa but also to South America.

Some sailors were lost to destroy a trade that resulted in 12million lives stolen by the trade in humans.

Since the Empire made slavery illegal and was the first empire in history to do so I'm sure Caucasian citizens died as a result of the campaigns that formed the abolishinist movement.

Who owned the ships? Who ran the auctions? What price did they pay to free the slaves?
Also, 250 000 in the states alone, not counting all that england and the royal navy did, as well as european countries.
All in all, I'd say half a million if not more over the course of the 19th century.

This sounds like a loaded question. But the literal answer is a lot, on both sides of the civil war.

Zero. They weren't fighting to free the slaves. They were fighting for the political right to govern themselves without interference from a tyrannical federal government. Furthermore, the slaves were not freed as a result of the Civil War. Ok Lincoln got shot in the head an a man from North Carolina took over. So yeah, black codes basically enslaved people for 100 more years. It's sort of like taxes, you just hide the blacks in the middle of nowhere. What you think Lincoln came down and read the Emancipation Prcolomation to their illiterate asses?

Trouble is prior to the early 1940s they never tracked population of the world in any form. So numbers for this or any other tragedy I suspect are grossly inflated. Inflating those numbers adds to the tragedy and the shock value of the story.
Absolutely lives were lost but your guess is as good as mine is to how many.

It was white versus white Union Vsand white who enslaved blacks. Are you looking for another education? Plus only 300k were accounted for as African but their were over 3 millions slaves. Which leaves the question how many blacks are even African?

I can't recall how many but remember it was a lot. The Civil War was the most costly war for the United States ever in lives and money. It would have been easier and less costly for the U. S. if they would have just paid the Slave Owners to free the slaves. Then again, I don't even know if the majority of the Slave Owners would have agreed to that.
