This is another prime example of STOCHASTIC terrorism. Kids were killed at Sandy Hook elementary school by a lone gunman. Alex Jones begins calling this a "false flag event" on his popular platform program callin the parents of the dead children liars and actors. Saying that they never actually had any children and that they needed yo prove that they did. Groups of people who bought into Jones' lies appeared around the homes of the dead children's parentsm, harrassing them, calling them liars, insisting that they have their brutally murdered kids exumed as proof that they weren't liars. Some of these bereaved parents grief was such that they felt compelled to move to escape the people robbing them of their ability to grieve. But it didn't work. The conspiracy nuts would not let them be and allow them to grieve. On and on Jones went, blasting his lies from his megaphone on for a decade. Imagine losing a child and having someone in your face every day. Calling you a liar. Telling you to dig up the body so THEY can see. Being harrassed as a conspirator when tou were the victim. All because someone who has the public ear points at you and SCREAMS... LIAR! THIS is why Alex Jones must be punished. There are others who do as Jones does as well.

Defamation requires an easily proven falsehood. It has to be done with ill intent that can also be proven. He is sued for defamation, not holding a different belief.

You or I can safely claim aliens exist, that 9/11 was staged or to change the narrative that yhe U. S was stealing dead babies in Japan (they stole parts, proven true), that Tobacco companies knew Cigarettes caused Cancer (known since 1950s, admit in 1990s) or that the CIA is attempting to use mind control (they did conduct serious research on the topic) all without any fear of consequences.

Defamation is by no means equivalent with conspiracy theories. Calling a donkey a duck does not make it one just because they both make honking noises.

Defamation is the actual charge. Whether it holds up or not is a different topic entirely. Although seeing how it reached a verdict and was proven beyond reasonable doubt it should be safe to say it held up.

So yes. It is defamation. Not speaking his truth or conspiracy theories. I am not invested enough in the case to speak with much authority but it isn't a crime you're easily convicted for with verdicts or settlements being as low as 10% and generally the sums are not substantial.

How people are just taught to hate their own country and only look to its faults and shortcomings. Love of country is a repulsive thing to them, something foolish and detestable.
