Hard to say. Could be many reasons. As far as I know non binary means folks who don't identify as either male or female. People are generally sheep espicially young women, it's like in the 90s early 00s half of all high school and college girls identified as Bisexual, why? Because it was cool as all female celebrities were doing just this, now we see many female celebrities identifying themselves as neither male nor female choosing they as a pronoun. Identifying oneself as straight white Christian is not the in thing and you enjoy white privledge and are a heteo normative oppressor so by identifying as non-binary like with previously identify as Bisexual like the other new genders or sexualities you can be apart of the while LGBTQ thing and be unique and special while still being able to enjoy Hetrosexual relationships. Being LGBTQ helps you gain diversity points when applying to college which will help if your white or Asian.

Also the Biden regime is giving money out to organisations that promote diversity so maybe the schools want money.

I have one kid left on high school and the school provided the same survey (disguised as a health form) to my kid asking what the student's preferred name is, what the student's preferred pronouns are, if the parents are aware, and if the teachers are permitted to use those terms in front of parents or if it should be kept confidential between the student and staff.

First what are the raw numbers? You would just need to go from 1 to 6 to get a stat like that.

I think the article is claiming 45% are gender confused. My take is mostly they have been gender confused and it has been made really Cool to be gender confused and Special.

I'd be interested in the break down of pre and post puberty students as elementary and middle school students were included.

Basically if you advertise then people will buy useless shit. That is what is happening for the most part here.

Great comment, RavVid. I agree that documentation on this was lacking.
And a break down of pre and post puberty students would be fascinating.

I shared the article as a sort of example of the sudden "non-binary" gender epidemic. I've read other articles in the past about this emerging phenomenon.

I knew why you were raising this of course.

It must be very confusing to a gender confused boy when he starts getting spontaneous hard erections over girls don't you think?

Somehow I don't find it convincing that post pubescent boys are no longer getting erections over girls. It doesn't pass the pub test. It wasn't as if I was culturally indoctrinated into getting one from a short skirt. They just started happening and I tend to think any boy getting erections is not gender confused at all. He will know what his erections are generally pointing at.

Just last night I watched a biology lecture where a woman discussed sex differentiation characteristics. A large number of the students got very upset to hear that men on average are taller than women on average and stormed out in protest. These students were very very upset and were saying this should not be said and it was just unequal treatment if men were taller on average.

It is only a short step from this level of denial to thinking gender is a meaningless societal concept without a basis.

Wow. So sexual dimorphism is a social construct. LOL palm slap

I agree with what you said about pubescent boys. And I understand that many girls feel awkward when their bodies begin changing. It's easy to understand how they get confused when they are encouraged to question their gender at an impressionable age. As if they can just choose their gender.

I can understand attraction to same sex. Some people are just that way. But they are still male or female. What I can't understand is the explosion in transgenderism. I don't think it is simply a matter of more trans-people coming out. It seems like the result of a social engineering program.

Yes I think girls could feel more confused. The female body takes longer to mature into being able to carry a baby so it would make evolutionary sense if sexual inclination was deffered past puberty until her body was mature enough to successfully carry a baby. That seems to be the age at which girls do start having sex though that is just conjecture on my part.

A female friend told me when she developed breasts she felt intimidated by men starting to look at her. "But I was just a little girl" she said. I guess that could prompt retreating from male interest because they feel too young for it. Which they are of course. Tomboys are nothing new either.

In the article there is nothing giving any breakdown by gender unfortunately. However there is some sort of age break down assuming equal number in elementary middle and high schools. There is a minimum in elementary, a maximum in middle then a drop in high. I would expect more ambiguity in pre-puberty elementary.

So that is speaking to me of social engineering in middle school and school children are changing their minds. If being gay or gender confused is given a specialness then it is not surprising that some children will see value in being so. Some liberal parents are pleased if their children are gay because it gives them virtue signaling capability.

Gee here some schoolgirls are self-identifying as cats and the schools are supporting that identification! Call me a furrie is the the demand. Maybe transgenderism isn't anymore than that.

Since 51 of the 52 genders all end up in the girls locker room it wouldn't be that odd if boys faked it to have a peek at girls.

So yeah I agree it smacks of social engineering to me as well.

In the longer term I think we can be confident boys will get erections over girl's bodies and girl's will like the power of their bodies have at say 17. I doubt that anything will change that much.

But this sustained social re-engineering should not be allowed. It is very wrong for it to be attempted. The Left has heavily been into social re-engineering since Marx. Indeed it is an essential aspect of it to re-educate the masses.

      I agree.
I'm very opposed to medical "transition" procedures. They should be illegal for anyone under drinking age.
It's easy for kids to get confused and entertain whacky notions. But, as you said, by the time they are 17 or 20 or whatever, they have more life experience and are comfortable in their bodies. Their unrealistic desire to change their body vanishes.

Certainly on medical transitions it should be an adult decision.

I have a friend who is gay. Last Friday he celebrated his birthday, and we went to a gay bar.

What surprised me is how cool the people there was. I even liked how gayish people dressed, because it looked quite good on them.

Even when I'm not really attracted to guys, I just felt more comfortable with that people than with most girls I dated.

So I can understand why some go that road.

Maths is easy. If you had 1 “non-binary” kid yesterday and you have 5 “non-binary” kids today and one who is 82% sure, but not quite, that’s a 582% increase. Ell oh ell! Actually that’s only a 482% increase. Since the first kid was already there, they don’t count toward the increase. But don’t worry. They’re still in the minority. They’re not taking over or anything. Most of them just want to be treated with respect. That’s not so hard. Ell oh ell!

From 1 to 582 maybe, out of tens of thousands of students in the state? Most likely, they weren't keeping stats on it before. Whatever, it's still a very small minority. People use percentages to try to make a point, when percentages really have little importance when you look at the actual numbers.

Low numbers, low standards of proof, and social status attached to being part of a minority group.

It's surprising it's that low, really.

Reporting. Do you think there were no gay people in the military in the 20th century?

The numbers: 239, up from 35, are a small fraction of the 158,232 students enrolled in that district. 0.15%, up from 0.022%.

    Don't be such a snowflake.

Oh, and that article reads, in part: "“This information is covered by privacy rules and is only collected if a student offers that information to a counselor,” Cram said, explaining that it was therefore impossible to accurately quantify.
“A percentage ‘of’ or ‘rise’ cannot be determined to be considered accurate in any way,” he said."

@Agagagagaga Do you practice being this stupid? Before the 1990's, maybe even later, gay people were not allowed in the military. It was illegal. So there were no openly gay people in the military. Make it legal, and suddenly there are lots. Did changing the law change the number? No, people were simply allowed to be themselves.

Gay people were allowed in the military under the policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” President Bill Clinton’s policy—a Democrat. Or don’t you know history you dumb fuck?

In my more traditional years of schooling there were gay guys but even before they came out everyone knew
