Why are anti-abortion religious zealots so obsessed with telling women what to do with their body, why do they think she has no say for an abortion?

Women DO have a say in an abortion. The problem is when they proceed to have one, the one person that does NOT get a "say" in the abortion, is the one that's killed - the baby. No one's speaking for them, EXCEPT those of us who are against abortion!

The BEST way NOT to need an abortion, is don't get pregnant. In other words, don't have unprotected sex, or better still, don't have sex with anyone you're not married to.

It's FAR easier to prevent pregnancy today than ever, yet women are having sex wherever they want (don't even bother bringing up rape, because that's a very rare event to get pregnant from that, even though it does happen). The best thing is keep your legs closed and wait for marriage to have sex with the guy you love.

I'm living in a country where abortion is forbidden since decades by dominant catholic church that influences massively our politic. That’s right. Once a woman becomes pregnant, she is no longer relevant to the conversation. Nothing she has to endure, nothing she has to sacrifice, or any thoughts she may have about any if it is to be dismissed. Not even worthy of a consideration because pregnancy and childbirth have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with women.

@UCrayCray Nope, not at all. A pregnant woman's life and heath take precedence over her child's. If carrying her child puts her life at risk or her health in jeopardy, or if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest, she has a valid reason to terminate the pregnancy.

But that is vastly different from choosing to end her child's life because she just doesn't want to have a child at that time in her life. She should have thought of that before having sex. Her child has a right to life just like she does, and ending her child's life as a matter of convenience for her is unacceptable. I can't believe anyone actually tries to justify that behavior.

@UCrayCray The obvious answer is that when a woman gets pregnant from rape, it wasn't her choice. If she willingly has sex and gets pregnant, the pregnancy is a result of HER choices, and a child does not deserve to die because if her choices. When a woman chooses to have sex, she chooses to take on the risks associated with a potential pregnancy.

The same is true of men who choose to have sex. They choose to take the risk of a potential pregnancy and the risk that they may have to be a father, with all the implications to his life that a child represents. On average, it costs more than a quarter of a million dollars to raise a child to age 18, and that is a huge responsibility. And he is legally responsible for that.

Of course, a man can walk away from his child and its mother, which is a terrible thing to do, but it's not as bad a choosing to kill his child because he doesn't want to be a father.

@UCrayCray The point is, there are reasonable reasons why a woman should have access to abortion. Her poor choices are not among them.

Anyone, man or woman, should take responsibility for their choices. Your irresponsibility should not cost a child its life just to relieve you of your parental responsibilities, and a man's irresponsibility should not relieve him of his. Seem fair? I'm sure any child would think so.
