Is this racist?

As some people know in my school or just assume I'm half Asian, specifically Korean don't worry not north, but it's weird because some people may know this without me knowing them, I mean when I was younger I used to introduce myself as hi this is my name and I'm Korean, which I know can be a bit awkward, but what's weird and uncomfortable is that one of the guys I've known for a while has all the sudden started calling me Ching Chang, because of my Asian heritage, and I've made it clear that I'm uncomfortable with being called that and I don't like it, my real question is... Is it racist and what should I do to stop it?

If you have known this guy for a while and he just started doing it, he is doing so because he is trying to “look cool” or make himself popular by trying to bully you. This is new behavior and he’s trying to build himself up in front of people by putting you down.

Just tell him something like:

“Look, my name is (blank). You know my name is (blank) and standing around and calling me “Ching-Chong” sounds pretty fucking stupid. I don’t know why you’re doing it, but calling me that makes you sound like an asshole. Are you an asshole?”

Say this in front of everyone. He’s calling you names in front of everyone, so address his behavior before everyone. Notice also, you never insulted him personally. You only said that his “behavior” is bad, leaving it up to him to decide how to proceed.

I say this because if you start insulting him personally back, who knows what could happen. Maybe a fight.
