I think I cracked it. White Trump supporters just want a "participation trophy" in this movement too. Nobody said "White Lives Don't Matter", yet here we are again. I didn't see them say "Stop White Hate" after the Anti-Asian attacks that took place in March of 2021, right? And of course that would be ridiculous if they did. Then why do they only do it to Black people? Because they a) wanna sabotage anything and everything Black people do and b) want more and more attention for themselves.

Now let's talk about this Black dude wearing the shirt. This guy is part of a 13% group of Black men that vote Republican, so their word only means 13% statistically speaking anyway. I see this all the time where Trumpers overhyped the few Black Republicans they see because they found them a quote-on-quote "Black ally" or shall I say "token negro" to assist them in their misdeeds. On paper, what the words are not racist, but they are very very very petty. I don't see Black people telling White people on their movements "Make America Black" or "it should be Proud Negroes not Proud Boys" but here you have them saying "All Lives Matter" and "White Lives Matter" and this guy subscribing to it. He wouldn't otherwise if he wasn't trying to make them happy.

No, it's not racist at all. It's just ignorant. People who counter the "Black Lives Matter" statement with "All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter" or some similar statement are not inherently racist. I believe most of them are just misguided. They take the statement "Black Lives Matter", and add subtext to it in their minds, so they hear/see it as "ONLY Black Lives Matter". Then they get upset about the thing they just created in their head, and refute the paper tiger by saying, 'hey, that's not cool. White lives matter, too! And cops, and everyone! ALL lives matter!"

    Is this racist?

This allows them to feel like they have defeated the terrible monster of "reverse racism" that they manifested when they added "(ONLY)" to "Black Lives Matter" in their heads.

In actuality, if there is any subtext to be added to "Black Lives Matter", it would be like in the photo above, to read "Black Lives Matter, Too.". This is more in alignment with the reason BLM became a thing. It was a cry out that a disproportionate number of POC are at risk/dying. The message through our culture, that black lives don't matter, and this continued mistreatment of black and other POC as second class citizens is justified.

I'm sure there are also plenty of intelligent, yet racist, people who fully understand the meaning and sentiment of "Black Lives Matter", but choose to be obtuse and spread confusion in order to nurture division and hatred. Mix them in with the ignorant and easily confused masses, and you end up with the backlash we've had from the "All Lives Matter" response.

    With 0 context. No.

With context... thats a very slippery slope. (Yes, white lives do matter. Inherently yes. Always and forever. However this messge is obviously very politically driven.)

The thing I find odd as a Black woman is that modern Black people have only felt the "crumbs" of true American racism. We are honestly very privileged compared to when were legally allowed to be owned, shackled, worked to death, beaten and killed without justice. Where the N-word was practically your nickname by every other white person you encounter.

I'm saying this, living in a very privileged time for us, that I wonder how our ancestors, in 1500s whatever, would have felt about that shirt. When they're the ones who've experienced the cruelest form of racism and the most extreme Black-White power dynamic. Yet, it's almost as if we modern Black people speak for them. They suffer so much, so we could live better. Yet their very privileged children wear things that are commonly used to discredit a movement made for them. If we lived though a tiny fraction of their pain and saw the true horrors commited, I wonder if he (a very privileged 2020 black man) would still be wearing that shirt. Because yes, white lives. matter... yet this is the same politically made shirt a KKK member or Neo Nazi would proudly wear without batting a lash. The same people who want him dead.

    I dunno, food for thought.

Only if you are stuck in The Intersectional/Identitarian Woke mindset - Lives matter period but The Intersectional/Identitarian Woke are more to blame for the rise in current levels of 'racism' as they are breaking the populous into tribes, Black, Asian, White etc. This helps none but are more to blame for the rise in shootings as they are breaking the populous into tribes, Black, Asian, White etc. This helps none but The Intersectional/Identitarian Woke, while limiting any cross group communication that would be able to resolve problems at a local level.

The Intersectional/Identitarian Woke are using the old divide and conquer to stop anyone clearly see what they are doing aided by leftist and RINO Politicians and the MSM, it is time for voters to take a long hard look at those they have voted into office to represent them and see if they are doing anything productive that makes the voters lives easier or are those representatives only doing what they can to feather their own nests.

What i find interesting is that prior to the whole race baiting the media was doing because muh orange man hurts muh fee fees. There wasn't much racism. Then suddenly because orange man bad , every white person became a reeeeecist. Now you idiots have screamed racist for so long that the black and Hispanic communities are like shut the fuck up. White people aren't the problem, mainstream media and the zombie horde that follows them are the problem. You see the mainstream media and democrat and old Republican party depend on us bieng divided and poor. Trump came in and united us, yes thats right United us to solve the real problems in this nation. When I went to trump rallies you had white, black , Hispanic , Asian, men and women in huge numbers.
I myself am Hispanic, so let me tell you crazy leftists something. Fuck you no matter what your skin color is. You fucking politics is the problem. You pushing socialism is the problem. Your complete inability to analyze any situation and just blindly follow CNN or Fox news is the problem.
Next time you wanna whine about reeeeecism, or complain about cultural appropriation of what ever your silly little cushy lives compel you to think is a problem I want you to stop and perform these 3 steps.
    1 shut the fuck up
2 observe the larger situation and take in multiple sources of information.
3 don't complain, offer up a solution to the problem.

White people get murdered by police more than black people get murdered by police. This is a fact. The only reason this is a fact is because white people make up the vast majority of the United State's population. Those white people were not murdered by police because they were white. That's the difference.

I'm white and I have never feared for my life when being pulled over. My black friend who was in the passenger seat was terrified. I was the one driving, but this cops eyes were on my friend the entire time. Another time, both me and that same friend were in a store with our bookbags on because we had just gotten off of our bus and the bus stop was down the road from this store. I watched the employee stalk my friend the second he walked in the door. My freind was then accused of stealing because he was black and was wearing a bookbag. Amazingly, I was standing right next to my friend also wearing a bookbag and was never questioned. This employee knew what time it was and what time school gets out.

No, this isn't racist but it is ignorant. A lot of people who support "white lives matter" are racist. There are also a lot of people who support "white lives matter" who are just misguided.

No, not on the surface. All lives matter, regardless of race. By wearing this shirt, he's calling out the warrantless aggression and hostility that's been launched against white people for no reason at all. Alongside those who accuse white people of being racist just because they are white. If anything, white people are being persecuted without a cause, simply for being white, and attempting to enforce so called "justice" for what black people have suffered throughout history at the hands of racism and bigotry. Anyone who assumes, out of context, that this is racist on the surface is truly ignorant and needs to wake up to the deception they are under.

It's not racist, it's just misled. A lot of people assume Black Lives Matter means only Black lives matter. Or that Black Lives Matter is only concerned when the life is taken by a white man and doesn't address black on black violence. This is because a lot of people who use the name and affiliation BLM and stray from the geniune idea. The counter protests may have good intentions but are completely misled. I have an argument for this, that breaks it down really simply, but ALM protesters typically get mad. If you and I went on a hike, you, along with others, and you broke your leg, you'd get the others to pick you up and carry you back. You NEED that assistance. But now imagine me, saying "My leg matters too. Carry me too." And when responded to that his leg is broke, I geniuenely don't believe his leg is broken, I think he's exaggerating and can walk. That would be the philosophy of All Lives Matter and other groups.

Nope. It is an expression of G0d's truth. We and just failed to live up to it at times. So did others.
    Slavery. Their lives mattered.
Trail of Tears (my personal un-favorite). "Our" lives mattered when we were marched to Oklahoma, and to death like the Bataan Death March.
The Bataan Death March. The Japanese marched us to death.
    Japanese internment by FDR
Vietnam. The Tonkin Incident was BS.
    Russians slaughtering Ukrainian civilians.
There's plenty of guilt to go around.
    All lives matter.

I think that shirt is funny as hell. It's the stupid shirts that are the funniest. It's definitely a Karen shirt. I believe that's the funny angle of the shirt. That's what Karen would wear to a BLM event with her overly supportive spineless husband would be cheating on making sure every knew the they matter too.

Now if Karen wore it, that would be more ignorant or racist because it's not worn to be funny at that point. People need to get off this "only 2 options" for everything. You have more than 2 options for probably everything ever in history but I don't know. I don't think he is wearing it to flip off white people. I think he is wearing to flip off the Karen/Derek type people. Instead of getting mad that he is a racist take a second and think about how much humor is in that shirt.

    BASIC fact... ALL lives matter!
Ethnicity is NO excuse to engage in socially 'criminal' activities
and to not expect CONSEQUENCES~ Threaten myself or my loved ones
and MY LAST consideration will be YOUR race. 'Double-tapped'
(Head & chest) 'DEAD' looks EXACTLY the same... regardless of YOUR race.

Seldom cited are the statistics of minority-upon-minority community violence!
'Thug life' regardless of ethnicity is a 'high mortality' career CHOICE~

Firstly I applaud his choice of margaritas.
Does the back have a list of all the non black people killed same way as George Floyd… or cops killed by criminals in scenarios like George was in when the criminal got the upper hand? Then make more sense.
Beyond that I’m tired of the erroneous black white differentiation.

Sure, white lives matter, but the problem is that white people take it out of context and make it about themselves. Everyone knows that every single life is precious, but in the United States, it's black Americans that are being unfairly killed and racially profiled. The way police treat white criminals for doing the exact same crime as a black criminal is very evident.

Actually if you really research it, Whites and Asians are quicker to be arrested and prosecuted for the same crimes in metropolitan cities. The media just shows black crime more often for whatever their agenda is.. Same with when a white girl is victimized like Gabby Petito... Media just shows what gets views.

@iFarted Ok, but you're talking about arrests. You aren't talking about HOW the police arrest you. For example, if a black man and a white man were both drunk driving, the white man would be nicely escorted in a car, while the black man would be dragged to the floor, pinned down, and choked to death.

Nope! But, in SOME twisted way, it now IS racist NOT to be racist so, that means EVERYTHING is racist so, we no longer have to worry about it!! EVERYONE and every THING is racist so, we can all just finally be cool, chill the fuck out and not worry about it, anymore!! Just pretend the word no longer exists!! EVERYTHING is racist so, we no longer need to use it to qualify or label anything, anymore!! :-) Isn't that great?

Its all a touchy subject. And for no reason other than the liberal democrats just using it as a decoy like they alway pull out of thair hat.

Point is, the movement was Black Lives Matter which started with Black men being going down by cops while unarmed. It was to bring attention to police brutality that mostly affected Black men.

By him as a Black man wearing that shirt is a way to kiss white people 🍑

@bamesjond0069: Statistically Black men are only about 6. something of the population in the U. S.

So statistically they are by far the most picked on and killed by cops while unarmed disproportionately compared to whites and other ethnicities.

@Hispanic-Cool-Guy thats an irrelevant statistic. Why would their % of population be relevant? Its their proportion based on police interactions or vs arrests or vs crimes committed.

@bamesjond0069: It matters. The more or else of a population means more or less interaction with the police.

If black men are a tiny percentage of the U. S. population and they get unfairly pulled over far more, unfairly shot far more etc then other ethnicities who are greater % than them then that's clearly a problem that needs to be looked at as to why it happens.

Why shouldn't my life matter as much as yours? I think that a person doesn't matter the colour of their skin should respect everyone until that individual gives them a reason not to respect them. I believe it or not have experienced racism against me. I was going downtown with a few of my friends who were Taiwanese. We called an Uber. There was a man who was Chinese driving. He looked at my two friends and said I can take everyone but the white girl. We ended up not taking his Uber and getting another one. So don't tell me that my life doesn't matter. I didn't choose to be Caucasian. I was just born into the body I was born in

I never said that your life doesn’t matter. I’m asking “How do you respect someone’s cultural, racial, and ethnic differences when you believe that everyone’s life matters and should be respected the same as the next person?”

The same concept could be said about birthdays. If everyone’s birthday matters exactly the same to you then why do you choose to celebrate only one birthday at a time? Sing everyone a happy birthday because all birthdays matter the same.

Because everyone's birthday is on a different day. We celebrate that day when it's their birthday. My boyfriend and I celebrate our birthdays on the same day because we were born on the same day. It's not rocket science

It's cool to learn about other people's cultures. I have people in my family that are all different cultures, skin colours, and backgrounds. I don't look at them any differently then if they were Caucasian. I love them and they love me and we respect each other. That's what this world is missing people have to respect that everyone is human we all make mistakes. And don't let your mistakes Define Who You Are as an individual. Be your own person. be the change. you can't control other people's actions but you can control your own. Educate yourself on other people's backgrounds and cultures. I think we should all respect each other.

      I agree.
How do you recognize unconscious racial bias? Or systemic racial differences such as redlined neighborhoods? Do you believe in repercussions from racial slavery? Do you know the consequences of Jim Crow laws and how they might exist today?

All of those questions recognize racial systemic differences in the US government. When you claim All Lives Matter do you believe that’s really just covering up all those problems that caucasians don’t experience or learn about in today’s school systems.

I think it's good to learn about what happened in history. So we do not make the same mistakes and let that sort of thing happen again. I don't think we should cover it up at all. Like people shouldn't cover up the Holocaust and what happened to the Jews. It's dark history but we have to learn about it so we can stop it from repeating itself

If you take out the word white and put the word black and it sounds hateful then it's racist. For example white entertainment television. If this is offensive then surely black lives matters is offensive.

… buuuut you decide to pay attention to the VERY SMALL population of whites in South Africa while numerous unarmed black people are being suppressed and murdered in broad daylight in the streets that take over a year of protesting for the cops to get any kind of criminal punishment. Sounds to me that you only like to pay attention to oppression only when it benefits you and not really standing up for everyone. Why is that? I thought you would say All Lives Matter but you’re really not for All Lives Mattering when that person is being murdered, including blacks.

All Lives aren’t treated equal by the government. Historically speaking from a country with such a racist past, color is VERY MUCH the reasoning. Only those who refuse to acknowledge racial differences choose to turn their head and pretend differences in color exist meanwhile inclusion in media, movies, society, redlined neighborhoods, impoverished neighborhoods, racial privileges, racial bias, lynching, etc. and many others has proven otherwise.

Sure, if you look at the general statement of X lives matter that isn’t being racists at all.

However when you look at WHY those to movements exist and what is in the history of both movements, that’s when it’s racist. Todays racism isn’t always blunt but it exists in reasoning.

Though there have been non BLM activists caught non peacefully protesting and giving the movement a bad name, that doesn’t account for the VERY large amount of peaceful protests demonstrated globally. BLM matter protests have been the largest civil rights movement in history; larger than any other movement of-coarse there will be opposition and those who want to give BLM a bad reputation.

@grega239 have you ever walked down the street in a minority neighborhood? Or have you ever worked with minorities?

Both are examples where different types of racism would really occur. Yelling vulgarity and being lynched are two different levels of experiencing racism.
You honestly believe racism is just a “one type fits all”? You honestly believe that bullshit? Grow a pair a balls and understand how racism exists in today’s society before you try to speak what you THINK you know what you are talking about. I’m done with you.

Racist in context when you’re trying to pull focus from a civil rights issue.
