Will the US ever have more political parties?

It seems like most people are unhappy with their choices in most recent US elections, do you think we'll ever actually get more parties or will we just keep complaining about the same 2?

In 2016, I voted for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate for President. I didn't expect him to WIN, but he couldn't even scrape 20% of the vote in HIS OWN HOME STATE. Now, with the country so polarized, and so many voting, not FOR a candidate, or even a party, but AGAINST the dreaded "other side", I don't see things changing any time soon.

We did use to have more- well, other- political parties, but it was pretty much two-way for almost all of our history. Washington said political parties were a terrible idea; would that we had been smart enough to listen.

Not helping things is that the last President we had from another party was Millard Fillmore, who was pretty unambiguously the WORST president we've ever had, so...

Unfortunately the political apparatus is unlikely to change.

More troubling is the (seeming) lack of diversity within parties. This is much more the case among Democrats as they now all are seemingly Communist conformists.
I think this election, even more so than 2020, is the Republican leadership’s last wake up call before they’re finished.

UNLIKE A REPUBLIC, a Democracy only has one Party and it is a group of Elites that manage by a Bolshevik mob rule mentality.
The country will transform into Oligarchs (Russia) and martial law (Russia/China).

This transformation is driven by the Elite Left from government, to Harvard, to Left Business, and so on.

The country already has multiple but they barely get any votes. They get so few votes that people hardly knows that the libertarian, constitution, green, and socialist parties. There's probably more than those as well

This would require a complete redesign of the voting system. Without changing how voting works it is systematically impossible to support more than two parties and not only that, those two parties are always going to drift towards being shit.

Probably not, given the high cost of having a national party. But any movement that arises inevitably gets co-opted by one of the two parties and that's another reason why we don't see significant third or fourth parties arise.

We already do. We have DOZENS even an American Nazi Party. So a better question would be, "When will other political parties start to matter in the U. S?"

You mean more than the 4 or 6 that we have now? Probably. Personally, I'd prefer that there were NO political parties, only candidates and their stances on the issues.
