Given that the last one of those we had gave us the worst president the nation's ever had, I wouldn't beh on it turning out great if they did- and given the blind loyalty of the anti-Trump crowd, who figured that the walking war on the Bill of Rights was a better choice, since anyone else would be, I don't see it happening anyway.

There should be, but there probably will not be due to the enormous cost of entry into national politics and the cartel-like system currently employed by the two main parties to prevent opposition to their hold on power and its accompanying corruption.

As long as you have that stupid voting system then no. It is realistically impossible to sustain 3 parties as the system of voting only promotes the winner and the one to challenge it. A third party will just get starved into irrelevancy.

Unless one of the two current ones goes through a schism, no, and even that would result in the other party having clear dominance for a time, so we would functionally have a one-party system.
