Shouldn’t that be mandatory for more important positions I mean the president doesn’t even get drug tested

I think it depends on the place. Janitors literally have the keys to everywhere in a facility and access to everywhere. Being on drugs might cause them to lose keys or have a lapse in judgement that might jeopardize the security of a facility. Or even imagine the janitor of a school goes out to smoke a joint and leaves a door propped open and someone gets in. So, yeah, I could see scenarios where that might actually make sense.
Just don't take drugs. Then there's no problem.
Yeah but it shouldn’t matter for a janitor
well... when i went to school a janitor got fired for smoking weed in the freaking utility room, where he could have exploded the gas heating appliance xD so i guess it does make some sense.
Yes let’s hope the janitor doesn’t blow up the school before the kids can get shot
well that was a big leap in logical coherence xD must suck to have the second ammendment, i guess.
I’m just saying there are more important things than a janitor hitting doobies in between breaks
imagine you owned an appartment building. a janitor has to ensure everything works. peoples lifes are on the line. fire protection has to function, heating, electicity, appliances. people can be hurt or die if shit breaks. also your buidlding can lose value if the janitor doesn't properly do his job. will you hire a stoner to do that sort of job? i won't.
Well as a business owner I can tell you this I care about results not the process
Be high as a kite as long as you do your job
well as a business owner you also have legal liabilities to abide by... and hiring a drug addict can cause problems for you even if the jantor does a good job. like remember how Elon Musk smoked weed on the Joe Rogan podcast? his entire company had to undergo sporadic unnanounced drug testing for several months after that incident. there's laws you have to abide by and if there's a legal problem with an employee taking drugs, that can fuck you up even if he does a great job.
Well that’s just the thing Nancy Reagan has everyone thinking “you hit one joint then it’s skid row” some people use drugs recreationally or are high functioning users and need it to help with their anxiety or to help them focus everyone can’t be in public or around other people without it (myself included I can’t get out of the bed in the morning without alcohol
well i don't make the laws. i know these laws are bullshit and that alcohol is legal even tho arguably worse... but i don't care about whether the laws make sense or not. as a business i just abide bc the laws, cause otherwise it costs me...
I know.

Because they want someone to do their job instead of snorting coke.

No idea but, I seem to recall my having to and, as I never take drugs, what do I care?
Companies typically desire reliable employees.
A person that consumes drugs typically isn't reliable for employment.
I understand that but there are some jobs that are not as important as others
You ever see the Simpsons? The simpsons was made in 89 and there was a character on there named Otto and he does every type of drug under the sun
Do you know what Otto does for a living? He drives a school bus full of children it did you know in 89 people who operate public transportation didn’t need to drug test that law wasn’t implemented until 93 and officially in 95
So that they know you're not going to be stealing the piss from the unflushed urinals?🤣🤣🤣
No idea. It's ridiculous.
They have access to all the areas of a facility. If it’s at a school then the proximity to the kids is a big deal.
Yes not the teachers enforcing their they them lifestyle with how their non binary spouse goes to town on them
In most places, yes.
yeah good point.
