Why do republicans think liberals were denying the results of the 2016 elections and for this reason it gives them an excuse to deny the 2020 results?

Why do both democrats and liberals not finally realize they basically both want the same things and are told the same lies about each other by their chosen party representatives and media to be devided and fight each other in a tribalistic fashion while the political class is the real enemy we should unite to fight together?
