Except republics are democracies. It may not be a "pure democracy", which would entail everyone eligible voting on every issue, but it's still a form of democracy.

As far as I know there isn't a "pure democracy" on the planet, certainly not at the country level. Either there aren't any democratic governments, or the United States is a democracy.

This is an argument largely over symantics but saying democratic republic is redundant.

A republic is "a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch." (Oxford)

All republics have democratic form by definition. While the U. S. is not a direct democracy, it is a representative democracy. Direct democracy, where every citizen votes on every issue, is totally impractical in a large complex society. The whole point of the Declaration of Independence and subsequent Constitution is individual liberty and self governance, that is democracy.

@exitseven Morons like you don't seem to realize the Justice department provided a federal judge evidence of criminal activity in order to obtain the warrant to search Mar-a-lago. That wasn't approved on a whim.

There is a lot of evidence already in the public record, the Justice department is certain to have much more.

Whether or not Trump will be charged and prosecuted is another question involving politics, not just evidence. Some people get away with crimes, typically wealthy and powerful people.

It was mostly old magazines, his wife's underwear and a couple of letter to the Rocket Man. The democrats said it was the nuclear launch codes. Well, those codes should have been changed after two years. Having 30 armed FBI agents showing up before sunrise and the tactics they used just further showed that it was just a big show to discredit the former president and to keep him from running.
