Either because of the way it sounds or because of the context of the word.

+1 yI would’ve thought I’d have had a more readily available list, lmao, but put on the spot, I’m struggling a little. Some are more phrases than a singular word.
I hate when people say “mitch-matched”…it’s either “mismatched” or “mix n’ matched”….. who is Mitch? Lmfao
“Vicious cycle”…. ever since Fat Bastard had the “I eat because I’m unhappy, and I’m unhappy because I eat. It’s a vicious cycle.” line in Austin Powers 2 (1999-ish?), I have never heard anybody talk any negative circular pattern of behavior or other social or personal phenomenon, and not call it a “vicious” cycle. It’s ALWAYS “vicious.” It’s annoying in the same way it’s annoying when people falsely claim to have Native American heritage because they think it sounds cool, it’s ALWAYS Cherokee, lmao. That’s the one they know, that’s the go-to. And so goes “vicious” for negative cycles. Have an original thought for me one time🙄
Couple of slang issues: 1) “fuckboy” - this is NOT meant to mean a player in terms of women. To the contrary, this describes some clown who nobody respects. Feels like some suburban kid heard it on the subway on a trip into the big city, and they misunderstood the meaning and brought it back to their town, using it completely wrong and it spread from there🤦♂️ 2) this is for the Gen Z’s….”goated.” This would be fine if it wasn’t so loosely thrown around. G. O. A. T. = Greatest Of All Time…. by definition, there can only be one. Only one person per whatever-you’re-talking-about can be “goated” in that field, if anyone else is goated, then the last goated person is no longer goated. It seems to really mean “elite”, by tightest definition, and “very good” more loosely. But we’re overrun with goats right now, according to the young whippersnappers🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
I’m a big fan of doors on bathrooms, so words like “fart” and “poop” make my skin crawl. Let’s just not talk about or even acknowledge that aspect of life with the exception of medical concerns or child-care (and just between the parents, THANK YOU), lmao. Double-whammy for “crap”, because I also have immense disdain for words that are euphemisms for full-blown curse words (which I kind of reject as a concept….”bad” words [excluding hateful slurs], just lmao)…just say “shit.” And strangely, I don’t feel much offense from the word “shit”, but I guess I just have an allowed variance in definitions for that one. If you’re talking about bathroom stuff, I’m not into it, but I also have a very broad range of others meanings and usages for the word, and I say those myself, frequently.
My blood pressure goes up if you think the drinking game “Beirut” is called “Beer Pong.” Helpful hint: if you aren’t using a ping pong PADDLE, then you aren’t playing Beer Pong.
Sheesh, I was stumped at first, but now the hate is flowing through me😂…..
OH! The word “plethora.” “A plethora of…” is like the first big-word phrase they teach you in like sixth grade reading class so you don’t write “A lot of…” a thousand times in your book report on Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing, lmao. When I hear people actually say it, it just reeks of someone who thinks they’re coming off as smart but really it’s entry-level stuff in middle school. Or like they’re overly aware of saying “a lot of” or “many” more than once, and I don’t hate them for it or anything, but it just makes me internally eye-roll a bit. Maybe I’m a douche, I don’t know😅 But it’s just like “who the fuck actually says ‘a plethora’ in casual speech?”🤓😂
Last few and I’ll shut up (sorry, had some time to kill😝)….. these words just sound goofy to me: scrumptious; smorgasbord; pregnant (kind of an ugly word to describe something supposedly beautiful, lmao)…. and I’m sure I’ll flooded with more when I hit send, but I’m at about 700 words, so that’s more than my cue to STFU😅😂

"Problematic." What idiots use to describe things they don't like, that aren't actually a "problem" to anyone but them.
Also, most Progressive buzzwords and made-up terms, like "homophobic," "transphobic," "toxic masculinity," "mansplaining," "CIS-gender," "non-binary," and so on. Anyone says "non-binary" in an unironic way to describe themselves and I immediately and instantly lose all respect for them and imagine them with white makeup on and a giant red horn on their nose. 🤡

I’m certain that’s not even a word. Also “conversating”. It makes me want to scream.
I am fed up with the word "resilient." It used to just be a word. Then the Pentagon started to use it all the time when it came to Soldiers and Sailors being ready and then the corporate world picked it up and now I cannot stand it.

I never realized that, but perhaps this isn’t an attitude we have here.
8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Bigger. I just dont like how it sounds. It feels like a made up word that kids use because they have poor vocabulary which is cute when kids do it but I cringe when I hear adults say "bigger" even when I know its a dictionary recognized word.

I don’t listen to left wing garbage unless it’s in the context of right wing media.
Im a centrist so I agree with both sides on certain points but despite that the left wing is just annoying and difficult to put up with so even if I agree with certain things I’m still not gonna put up with them.
