Before the inauguration of the World Cup, the whole world was united against the deaths of the immigrant workers, but now the lgbtq has shifted the attention towards their agenda of shoving their views upon a religion and the laws of the country.

Do you think it destroyed the whole momentum of the protest and the attention we barely had on the rights of the poor workers?

I think this whole debate is so interesting. It's a horrible thing to have the deaths of workers and LGBT rights being ignored/prohibited but at the same time this is Qatar's country and therefore their laws you'd have to follow if you choose to go there. It's an extreme privilege to go to another country and start trying to force your agenda on them - yes, LGBT rights are human rights and the deaths of workers isn't something to ignore but don't start complaining about it then go to Qatar and do things that could get you arrested or worse then complain about it. The West has an awful habit of trying to force their agenda on the rest of the world and nowadays the LGBT agenda is seemingly controlling everything. They shouldn't have chosen Qatar to host the Cup this year maybe but this doesn't mean you go about slagging on someone else's culture and laws. And it's incredibly hypocritical of the West to act all moral and upstanding.

A1: I do not think their purpose was to redirect that attention.

A2: Deaths happen everywhere. Just because we had deaths (murder) at a bigger scale elsewhere, it should not diminish what happened in Qatar. The deaths at the Qatar, however, are more important for this discussion because they're 'directly' related to the world cup, unlike the deaths at the Colorado. LGBTQ tried to capitalize on the worldwide event even though football (soccer) world cup has nothing to do with gay rights.

I just think that in that part of the world, they are focused on that. If you look, the Iranians were focused on what was happening in their country. I just think it is a mistake to conflate our issues with mass shootings with issues in Qatar. We can do both. But it makes sense for these headlines to be first and foremost here.

My assumption is correct because if you’re going to do something about it, you wouldn’t post your comments on a forum but instead you would focus your efforts in real life. Also, I am enjoying my life because I have seen how many lives have been lost.

The issue related to the deaths of the labourers is more important than gay rights because:
1. It is directly related to the World Cup
2. The topic of life and death will always be more important than the topic of love and hate.
