Why don't people care about the oppression of LGBT people?

If it were punishable by death to be black or Jewish in Saudi Arabia we wouldn't be friends with them. If it were punishable by death to be black or Jewish in Dubai it wouldn't be such a hot vacation spot. Even in America just a couple generations ago I would've been institutionalized and a few generations before that I would've been imprisoned.

But since it's just against us nasty f words nobody cares. They don't think our oppression is real.

I think it's about power, numbers, simple as that.

Our country does "reprimand" other countries verbally, but the push to sever ties and really push the issues isn't there... not enough power... money, noise, people in power. Break the chain to saudi arabia and that has big implications, life altering implications. Govt hesitant to do that.

Women in Afghanistan are being diminished. A lot of people faught to get a better life, indirectly, for these people. That ended. It's not easy to change other cultures, it's hard enough to manage our own. The Ughers are being "conditioned" in china. That isn't so pretty.

If you don't like the results, you can pick up a weapon and go fight, march, etc.. Many "martyrs" before you have paid the price trying to make change.

I think a lot of people get sick of the percentage of gays and lesbians who go out of their way to shock them with graphic songs about masturbation and butch lesbians who try to compete with men. There are also the gays and lesbians who think they can turn straight people and sexually harass them. I’ve known some very nice gays and lesbians. Actually my bestie is a lesbian. A butch one. So I only have issues when people tend to carry on and try to shock people. Straight, gay or bisexual, sleep with whomever you want but don’t shove it in my face.

Should you be able to get married yes - Should you be able to get married in a church No, the reason is it goes against all religions.
Should you be able to adopt - sure - If not no one cares it is because you would able to create your own if you were straight.

The LGBTQ community do not suffer oppression in the West, where you seem to come from.

And while we may not agree with such oppression in other regions of the world, ultimately we must respect their beliefs, as its wrong to force the rest of the world to view things like us, they must be free do so on their own and at their own pace.

In Saudi Arabia it wasn't so long ago that a Muslim cleric verbally abused his 5 year old daughter as not being a virgin, he then beat her, then he raped her as punishment, then he strangled her to death and burnt the body.
