Why are Americans still teaching the lie that pilgrims and native Americans lived in peace when the pilgrims committed genocide against them?

Every year they still teach that pilgrims and native Americans sat peacefully together when the pilgrims slaughtered women and children on Thanksgiving.

Because for the most part, they DID leave in peace. The Pilgrims, as with MOST of the settler groups, fought back when attacked, but didn't initiate squat. The natives, by and large, didn't attack either; they'd already lost more than 90% of their population to a massive plague that wiped out their civilization.

Jeffery Amherst? The smallpox blankets guy? The one and ONLY proven case of deliberate mass murder? That was two and a half centuries later. Learn your history, man.

are you one of the "special people" who still believe Columbus and others passed around blankets infected with smallpox and shit to intentionally spread deadly germs to the Native Americans, even though humans had NO understanding of germs and their transmissibility until a much later date?

Or the guy who believes that Natives lived in peace until the "evil white man" came along and started wars, despite indisputable archaeological evidence of wars between tribes, and the cruel and torturous ways they dealt with captured war prisoners long before any white man set foot on that land?

Pretty much all of so called American history is flag waving propaganda with little room for actual facts. I pity real American historians who have to contend with the simplistic overly patriotic version people have been brainwashed with.

Maybe because back then, each murder might have been exclusively done by democrats (you know the horrible type of people that started KKK, or the type of people who deletes answers that offers possibilities they don't like)
