Freedom vs Centralization and Authoritarianism
The means of control is entirely irrelevant when it crosses the line of consent.

Even if Democracy without such limits did not consistently murder itself in every example in history. 51% of the population has no natural right to command 49% of the population on any issue not specifically consented by said population.

This is foundational to the concept of natural rights in that all rights originate from the people NOT the state. Indeed as our revolution in 1776 demonstrated even under said constitution should their limits cease to be agree able any part of said population able to govern itself has the inalienable right to withdraw said consent.

Increasingly it's Democracy and Authoritarianism.

There have been people moaning about elections before, but nobody's suggested ignoring them before, not even when an audit showed that the other guy would have won in 2000. If you won't accept the results of an election even though you have no proof that it was fraudulent, you're the one defrauding the voters and you're the one who doesn't believe in democracy.

Functional republics (as opposed to the places that call themselves a republic but where the power is out of the hands of the people) are a type of democracy.

There is the right side and the side that calls themselves the right side. Then there's the correct side, the upside and downsides. The in-between.. which isn’t exactly a side, but it’s still a side when it comes to politics. The happy and sad sides. And lets not forget the fake side.

How you boil those few options down to two sides.. well, that isn’t my job. Thankfully.

The issue is money.

One side wants more to spend, the other wants people to keep more to spend

I’m unaware of the latter side. Repubs want big business to keep more to spend on stock buybacks.

We are looking at a system where half the country is on some kind of government assistance and the other half has to pay for it.

Without limits democracy is a tyranny that unavoidably destroys itself one way or the other. For unrestrained power always is used by the leaders to secure their own hold on such power.

This is probably why they corrupted the election system to the point where votes in said states no longer care about the results.
Whether this has been done via the buying of said votes or voters in the short term doesn't matter.
In both cases the country will be ever more impoverished and in the case of buying voters it will require they shift to an ever more controllable system of counting said votes.
