Why do some study programs accept none to only one black person?

I have realized that in most predominantly white institutions, there is a high lack of diversity even when many people from all ethnicities apply for some study programs. Like only 1/20 get accepted for black people (or non-white people in general) and like 40/50 of white people get accepted instead.

Why is that so? We live in 2022, I though diversity was a thing nowadays. Especially for universities.

there are NO white institutions. there are, however, black only institutions. and with affirmative action... i think ur claim is a blatant lie. no business nor institution could survive the massive "racist" backlash if it was touted as "white only". i think ur a troll and full of sh! t.

Do you automatically get a place because of your race? Look how many Asians don't get into good colleges because they are over represented despite being a minority

I don’t think the institutions are to blame as much as in my opinion it’s all about location and the people applying. Black / other races are going to apply to institutions in locations they can further relate to, as white people do the same thing.

Why is it in a university where 90% of students are black we have 18/20 of the students accepted are black? Must be racism or something

Maybe only one black person applied? I'm not in favour of quotas. It should be based on academic potential. I've been on courses I didn't benefit from, and it isn't fun.

Probably because they’re accepting the students for their academic merit rather than the color of their skin.

Those places base acceptance on marks and merit and likely are not accepting based on “color” quotas, therefore few black people make the grade to be accepted.
