Back when Trump was first running for president I made a prediction. Either Trump loses, or he will cause the destruction of the Republican party. Id say that so far I have been fucking spot on in that prediction.
After a long series of chain events, which granted was started long before Trump hence my confidence in making that prediction, the GOP is stuck between a rock and a hard place through their own making. They have doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on a bunch of subjects that has no future which by extension means that the GOP itself has no future either.
Be it them focusing on their core demographics AKA old people dying of old age which is lowering their supporting base year after year or their mounting corruption or whatever, it does not really matter which part you focus on because its all plagued with short term thinking with a long term mounting crisis.
Trump was as much a symptom of their impending doom as he was a cause contributing to it. In a way he was the tipping point where they truly lost all control of themselves and their future. One of the clearest signs of this is the growing rift in the party itself. I could go on for hours about this but suffice to say I see nothing but a slow collapse for the party in the future. If it happens during the next presidential election or later depends on the results but it would only speed up the inevitable or delay it but not change the final outcome.
Probably... Let's be honest; the Republicans needed a refresh back in the Obama years. God only knows why they haven't been able to get their act together. It's so strange to me that the entire party is completely incapable of putting together a coherent, empathetic, conservative message. Instead, it's all "crack down on abortion rights" and "keep THOSE people out."
The Republican Party wants to be successful, which is why they embraced populist Trump to begin with: to win! However, this recently doesn't seem to be working for them and the Trumpists have fallen in popularity after Jan. 6's awful faux pas and the lies about "The Steal," which never occurred, and has been proven to be false.
Trump's inflated opinion of himself and his skills appear to have fallen out of favor, as well as Trumpists like the nutcake Ms. Greene, and the Arizona candidate touting the same tired claims of election fraud when it's being proven there was none.
I don't think Donald Trump is a racist or hateful, but he will do ANYTHING to win! He will lean to any side, use any set of people, no matter how questionable, to bolster his chances to win. He's all about a winning BUSINESS formula; he's never been a public servant. Public service is what government is about. Sure government servants have lined their pockets and done wrong, but 95 percent of people in government got there to serve the electorate. Not themselves.
Sadly, I think Donald Trump is Donald Trump's Job: always has been and always will be. But if Kanye, Trump, Fuetes and Jones pull more votes to the party, Republicans will embrace them, no matter how crazy and wrong they might be.
Sober Republicans have started repudiating these people, but there is a broad split that remains.
When you say that "The Steal," which never occurred, and has been proven to be false." It is really it has not been proven the election was stolen. Nobody had ever provided proof that it wasn;t. Chaos was created to hide all the instances of fraud. The media covered it all up and started the "Big Lie" and repeated over and over again that there was no election fraud. The FBI put more effort in investigating the million people who were in DC on Jan6th instead of cases of election fraud that the 1000+ people, many of them poll workers, claimed happen.
The truth is we will never really know if the election was stolen or not. We are just now finding out how the FBI colluded with Twitter to bury the Hunter Biden corruption story and censored anyone who Tweeted about it.
You should just declare yourself a Nazi, @exitseven. Then you can focus on defunding the FBI and shredding the Constitution.
@exitseven Exit. Hunter Biden's messes are his own. He's a grown man doing his own business and is not the president of the united states. Just as Trump's grown children who are not working FOR him were doing their own things whether they be right or wrong. As long as they have nothing to do with the business of the presidency, they are unimportant.
It might be sad that Hunter Biden has involved himself in shady business deals, but it doesn't implicate his father. I had a teen who was selling pot in high school and got arrested for it. Was that my fault? It wasn't. I never schooled him to be dishonest or to smoke or sell pot. Never did it around him, never kept any such stuff in my home. We got him into a drug program after that..
. But a 40 something child? Sort of like blaming the elder bush for his son's cocaine use, isn't it. His son George Bush who became president.
O
OH and yes, there was minimal election fraud. I heard about it. A few dozen votes here and there WERE found. Might have added up to a few thousand total fraudulent votes across the country. There was no fraud found in the hundreds of thousands or millions needed to affect the election.
And THAT is the point. We absolutely know that the election was not stolen. Just as the election was not stolen from Al Gore, though it was a close race, and even though HIllary Clinton won the popular vote, there was no steal in that case, because it is STILL the electoral college that determines the presidency ultimately, and it didn't support her popular vote, did it? So wasn't THAT a steal?
In Biden's case, he won both the popular vote AND the electoral vote. Are you saying the Electors' votes were stolen? Because if the electors thought there was fraud, wouldn't they have voted their consciences?
And lastly, did you hear Trump's latest? He want's to nix the Constitution! Wow. This is the guy who the vote was stolen from. Wants to upend demoncraxy, period.
If 1000 cases of fraud were reported, the states had the ob;igation to investigate these cases. Each state had Secretaries of State in charge of voting. Fraud cases reported have to be reported on the state level. If they weren't, it would appear those cases were dismissed for some reason. And 1000-2000 cases out of a hundred million votes is what percentage?
I say, the system is working with a few glitches that it appears were caught, checked and either dismissed or upheld, and those votes canceled.
@exitseven "The truth is we will never really know if the election was stolen or not". If you make a serious accusation such as the "election was stolen", you better have something tangible to back it up. The best the Republicans could do was claim that Dominion's voting software sent the votes to a foreign server and brought them back altered in Biden's favor. Of course, there was no proof of this, although crazy man Mike Lindell claims it will ALL come out now before the New Year, since the SCOTUS refused to throw out the defamation suit against him. Meanwhile, he's being sued by Dominion for every cent he has, along with lawsuits against Fox, Rudy the Pimp Guliani, and Sidney Powell.
Your assertion that "just because I have no real PROOF that it happened doesn't mean it DIDN'T happen", has no basis in logic in this instance. In the case of JFK's assassination, there's a very reasonable and logical inference that Oswald could never have acted alone, no matter the report says, because THAT assertion has a foundation in common sense. The Big Lie does not. Nor do you.
@loveslongnails soumds more like a lot of conspiracy theories. Oswald was an ace shot and it is not impossible that he could've acted alone. Maybe imPROBable, but not impossible. Think about the guy in Las Vegas. He popped off and injured many unprotected people from his nth floor window. Oswald wasn't up so high and was about equally far away. If Kennedy had been in an enclosed vehicle, none of these theories and his death would not have occurred.
Oswald had enough time to get off several shots. That has been proven. And shooting skill and planning removes margins of error.
The only statement I can say about proof, is that if there is so little as to approach absolute zero, nor any breadcrumbs leading one to reasonably extrapolate from ideas concerning an event, then there is no conclusion that can be made except that the theory is a fallacy..
We can't prove dinosaurs were wiped off the face of the earth by a giant meteor hitting the earth. But there is a gaint hole in the earth filled with water in the gulf of mexico. That is the fossil record that has loads of dinosaurs for millions of years, but after a giant load of ash in the fossil record there are no longer dinosaurs... And mammals take over. But there are loads of breadcrumbs to lead us to this logical conclusion.
I must say your name for Rudy Giuliani is the funniest one I've ever heard to date. So thank you for that!.
Hunter Biden is Joes bagman. Look at all the properties that Biden owns and all his other assets. There is no way he could have ended up so rich on a Senator's salary. Where do you think all that money came from. He was "the Big Guy" who got a cut of the millions that Hunter got for doing nothing.
@exitseven Although Biden has made a steady income as a politician, the majority of his wealth has come from book deals and speaking fees. Biden’s starting salary in the Senate was $42,500 a year in 1973; when he left the Senate in 2009, he was making $169,300. As vice president, his salary shot up to $230,700 and he’s earning $400,000 as president.
Biden’s first memoir, “Promises to Keep,” earned him $71,000 in royalties and $9,500 for audiobook rights around the time of its publication in 2008. But that’s little compared to what he has earned since leaving his first stint in the White House. From 2017 to 2019, the Bidens earned more than $15 million, according to tax filings reviewed by Forbes. That includes a reportedly $8 million second book deal, $1.8 million from book tour events, $2.4 million in speaking fees and $775,000 from the University of Pennsylvania (to lead the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement as the Benjamin Franklin presidential professor of practice)...
The money he's made seems to have been because of book and speaking deals it seems. Not from his Senate salary at all. Bidens owns two homes valued at a total of 4 million. Has a 1 million dollar pension from the vice presidency.
I don't see any laundry list of properties that Biden owns other than his houses. Sounds like he's earned his big bucks without a bagman.
One thing I've learned from gag is republicans hate just about everyone, foreigners, gays, blacks, women etc and they regularly vent their spleen'a about such folks in the name of their beloved "free speech".
Yet magically their leaders never just come out with it in plain English instead adopting a "nod is as good as a wink" approach. I reckon as Trump slips from favor he'll snap and let rip his true feelings to the delight of the great unwashed in a rant that'll make the Nuremberg rallies look like a nursery rhyme.
Is the Republican party finished? No just constipated but ready to take a dump.
When Elon Musk bans you, things have seriously gone off the rails...
"Elon Musk says Kanye West suspended from Twitter after swastika tweet"
One thing that’s always baffled me is how British people pretend to understand American politics
@WhiteBoyChill You spend such a large portion of your life baffled by things.
You spend an even larger portion of your life being brainwashed and uninformed about things.
@WhiteBoyChill Brainwashed. Sure thing. Amazing how the smart people are the brainwashed ones but the dumb people have the answers. Everything is reversed with the common Trumptard. So the election was rigged, right? LOL!
@WhiteBoyChill We do get American news in Britain. I admit some of the news might be biased and incomplete, but it does give us an impression of knowing everything. I think we still know what's really happening better than someone who gets their news from the Faux Entertainment Channel.
I couldn’t give a shit that you’re studying wildlife ecology in college.
Try becoming an engineer and I’ll bet you’d cry yourself to sleep every single night
99.9% of Indians are studying engineering. Can't be that hard.
Just fck off.
You don’t know shit when your country is only a hair of what it used to be.
And by the way maybe try actually asking people what they read instead of assuming.
I take the middle ground. Both sides have a monopoly on truth so I don’t follow either of them
@purplepoppy. Enlighten me. Show the source
The UK has 20 percent of the 16 to 17 year olds interested in engineering, while US has 30 percent and India with an impressive 80 percent, the highest in the world.
Indian Institute of Management has students that are 90% in engineering
gineersnow.com/.../10-jaw-dropping-statistics-must-know-engineering-india
Or just ask any Indian on GAG what he does and the answers nearly always engineer
Ah ok. So we’re using anecdotal evidence on here. Nevermind the fact that many people in India work low wage jobs. Its apparently somehow suggestive that all Indian people are Engineers just because one school in particular was well known for its engineering program.
And by the way interest doesn’t reflect actual numbers. Every kid I grew up playing soccer with wanted to be a professional athlete but guess how many of us ended up as actual players?
Hey white boy, chill.
Couldn’t be any more creative
@WhiteBoyChill Maybe. But you aren't worth the time. :)
@purplepoppy It is the democrats that have the party of hate. If you lived here you would see how they cancel anyone who does not think like they do. democrats have weaponized the FBI and IRS to arrest anyone that gets in their way. Biden has his own Gestapo.

Wait, didn't they just win control of the House of Representatives? As well as more state offices than ever before during a midterm? I know that they turned Miami (a SOLID blue stronghold for over 40yrs) - Red for the first time in over 40 years? Also an entire AREA of Texas that has previously been a Democrat stronghold, just turned Republican. This is happening all over the country. While I’m glad I’m neither Democrat nor Republican, Republicans may be a LOT of things, “doomed” however, is certainly not one of them.
They are doomed, Crazy G. :)
Okay, then I guess they’re doomed. Politics really isn't that important to me, there are so many more important things to worry about and care about right here in my little circle of existence.
Yeah they held onto the house but barely... they were supposed to have a 'red wave' that clearly didn't happen. it broke the trend of both houses of the opposite party to the then sitting president winning huge gains such as in 2018, 2010, 2006, 1994 and so on. there were a lot of key races that should have been easy wins for republicans but were very close races instead such as colorado district three which that crazy woman Lauren Boebert won by only over 1000 votes.
so this is not good news for republicans at all. Just had to say this.
And mark my words if these republicans continue their authoritarian streak of stripping well established rights away from millions of americans like with the Dobbs decision they will lose huge in 2024 too. The courts are already trying to block bidens student loan forgiveness plan in a very corrupt way and most people can clearly see which side of the aisle is the one responsible for that. the gen z youthful voters will likely show up yet again and let their voices be heard on that.
@Still-alive I don’t know why you’re telling me this I’m not a republican, I’m a democrat voter (even though I’m registered as an independent) I will say one thing as a matter of fact, the republicans did not “hold onto the house” they won the house. Democrats WERE in control, now republicans are. That (by definition) would be a win, not a hold. I may not be a fan of republicans, but I am a fan of objective reality.
Yes they won-my mistake. But again barely. It was supposed to be a wave.
@Still-alive Okay, if you say so, sweetie. I’m REALLY not interested in politics, I’m 19, I have my whole life ahead of me to worry about what those assholes are doing, right now, I just care about school, and spending as much time with my friends as possible, and meeting cute guys. Those are INFINITELY more important to me than friggin politics! Like I said, I have my ENTIRE life to be old and sit around worrying about what people who don’t give a shit about me are doing!
i wish i could go back to being apolitical lol... but i can't turn away since the 2016 election.
but ok you do you though. you said things here that made me think you didn't understand the gravity of what happened in the midterms. thought you'd might like to understand it a bit more.
@Still-alive Yeah, well I was 14 in 2016, so I REALLY didn't care about who the president was back then! I was WAY too busy getting therapy and trying to keep from killing myself! And as for the midterms, as I’ve said I voted democrat in all but one race. But its not that I don’t “understand the gravity” it’s just that I don’t care… certainly not like you do anyway. I have got way too much going on in my life to even have time to devote any emotional energy to what’s going on in DC. Even on a college campus, we have our political crazies here (on both sides), and they all look like they couldn't get a date with a gun! Every good looking person I know, is just having too much fun to sit around and be like… “yeah, sure he’s gorgeous, but I wonder how he voted in the midterms?” Although I will say this, the republican guys on campus may be overweight & unattractive, or both, (well there is a couple of cute ones, but id never date them, because they spend TOO much time worrying about politics!) But they REALLY dress well, in their suits. Especially compared to the “liberal anarchists” & “democrat socialists” (their words), with their weird colored hair, and all black outfits!
Most people are in the middle, Crazy G. You seem to be talking about weirdos on the fringes. That's why wacko Nazis and Trump and his army of tards need to be squashed. :)
Yeah, like I told Still Alive, I really don’t care.
@exitseven what part of I REALLY do not care are you having difficulty understanding? If you let me know I’ll expound in great, page after page, detail!
@CrazyGirl2 I am sorry. I was just agreeing with you. 😊😊😊
@exitseven you really do not need to agree w/ me, thanks but it’s honestly not necessary, but how you thought that I support Trump from “I literally don’t care about politics” that’s beyond my ability to reason.
@CrazyGirl2 Apparently mine too. 😊😊😊
I don't know much about American politics but if Republicans want to save their party they need to stand up to weirdos like Trump, Greene, Cruz and Hawley. In fact they need to expel them from the party. The fact that it hasn't happened already seems to suggest that most people would rather quit the party than fix it.
@exitseven Sure, tell Liz Cheney how inclusive the Republican party is. It's as inclusive as a lunatic asylum.
@exitseven Trump is history. Move on.
@supercutebutt a lot can happen in two years and probably will.
The GOP isn’t doomed. There are different factions. In fact, the dinner with Trump was probably set up by a competing faction. So it seems Trump has been damaged, but that just leaves the contest between the GOP establishment that is hated by most of the GOP base, DeSantis who may or may not be controlled opposition supported by the establishment, or one of Peter Thiel’s candidates if any can muster enough stature quickly enough.
I sure hope this party is doomed. Any time there is a proposal that will screw working-class people they are sure to vote for it.
Yup.
Hunter Biden made so many bad choices in his past, you’d think the Republicans would have nominated him for the Senate race in Georgia.
As long as the keep openly embracing authoritarianism yes. The midterms shows how unpopular that is.
Considering the failures of the democrat party and the treatment of Kanye west by liberals I would say its never been stronger.
Yeah. Should we just rename the GOP the American Fascist Party?
Why would we do that considering fascists are all about big government
Exactly! Because Republicans feel BIG government should get their hands up inside a woman's womb. Now you are FINALLY understanding! Congrats, dude!
No they feel taxpayers or government should not be financially responsible for a woman's womb or what happens in it.
Don't lie, now. You & your peeps want it illegal no matter what. VERY BIG government. :) It's what you want. You also luv when cops kill members of the black community. You ALWAYS take the cops' side regardless. That's VERY BIG government, too :)
:) You are a hypocrite. :)
Many cops are black. A lot of abortions are black babies
So? You are still on the side government. BIG government!
With the Fall of Dump, will come the Rise of the TRUE Republican party, and I DON'T mean that TOOL DeSantis!
Walker's loss and Trump Organization conviction are two more nail in Dump's coffin!
After Elon Musk releases all the Twitter info, the Dems may be done, at least Biden and his people
LOL!
I think Ye (Kayne West) is having a mental breakdown and I am genuinely worried about him
Nope, but if we are lucky Democrats (or at the very least those that supported the guy who claimed you can't be black unless you vote for him) are doomed
Are you a Nazi like Kanye?
No, and I'm not someone who supports burning and looting and call it "fiery but mostly peaceful protest" either :)
So you have evidence that President Joe Biden supports looting? Because I have evidence Donald Trump supported the violent insurrection.
Nonono, leftists like the bad folks at CNN supported looting and burning in their "Fiery but mostly peaceful report" you know, BLM. I don't support Nazis and I don't support BLM either.
But to get back to your original quetion, no I don't think the Republican party is doomed.
Hopefully the leftists will get in som justified trouble after the Twitter info is out.
Been doomed since they let trump win the election. Any dignity they had left was lost after that.
As long as there are people that still believe in a free country and the constitution the Republican Party will continue to thrive.
LOL!
Trump calls for the termination of the Constitution in Truth Social post
“Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social
we are in uncharted waters. What is the remedy form the theft of an election? There is really nothing in the constitution to use as guidance. The courts seem to be hog tied and nobody wants to touch this with a ten foot pole. I suspect that people should go to jail over this and not just democrats. The problem with the swamp is that there are swamp creatures of both parties.
I can understand President Trump's frustration and being told that he had no standing in the court. I really wish that he could just concentrate on the future if he really is sincere in making America Great Again Again.
When the Civil War is over, we will see who comes out on top.
As long as we keep electing people who don't even try to fight for our values, then yes.
Yes. Huge disappointment.
Scrap both parties and start over
My happiness is not based on politics
No not at all
