I would love for a liberal to explain how making sure elections are fair is a threat to democracy. How is having doubts that elections are fair a threat to democracy. Apparently people who doubt the fairness of elections are a fringe minority who keeps believing an absurdity despite 60% of voters in the midterms saying they believed the elections are fair.

How is 40% of voters a fringe minority.

Im just an ignorant rural white person from Tennessee so my brain don't work hard enough for me to figure this out please use simple words.

Before anyone could cast a vote, don was preaching "if i lose it's from voter fraud." When he also historically calling out the media as "fake news" and "enemy of the people" the very press that would earnestly investigate any claim of voter fraud that ultimately found nothing. Even the right wing news found nothing.

He even went to over 100 court hearings. Some of them were trump appointed judges hearing out any claims. This was the rudy and kraken crew and they went to every single one and had nothing to show or say. Any scrap of evidence with a 50/50 probably of wrong doing would start a federal investigation.

That had nothing. They said nothing because if you get caught lying they all go to jail. Saying nothing gets you disbarred but you're half retired anyway so who cares. None of this mattered but to keep the fire going untill January 6th for the big boom.

Isn't it funny how our elections aren't fair whenever conservatives loose, but if they win it's not a problem? What they want to do is make sure they don't loose, by making it more difficult for people to vote. Generally, the lower the turn-out for voting, the more conservatives win elections. They've been admitting that publicly since the 1980s.

And by the way, if you can't even spell the word "lose," you probably shouldn't be voting.

And the US isn't a democracy, it's a federal republic. Also shouldn't be voting if you don't understand this concept. The word democracy doesn't appear even one time in either the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution.

Also, the biggest threat to democracy are people who claim to "defend" democracy, as they have the most to lose.

I think you're confused. It's the conservative Republicans who are screaming that the elections aren't fair, especially when they lose.

It's because they're not fair. How is demanding fair and transparent elections a threat to democracy.

Fair means making it easy for everyone qualified to vote to be able to vote. There are too many locations where people are intimidated to not vote, if they don't match the qualifications of those controlling those locations. That's the reason minorities have always been underrepresented in the government. The first step to get the fairness you seek is to look at what would be fair to all concerned. When one group divides up the whole, it should be the other group's option to choose which piece they want. Nowadays, people feel their group is entitled to a larger piece of the pie, so they do all in their power to manipulate the system to be in their favor.

It's like conservative politicians telling women what they can and can't do with their bodies, even though the majority of people feel women should be able to choose what makes sense to them. How would you feel if I passed a law stating that anyone who primps their hair in public will be shaved bald? Just because those in control are willing to pass laws that limit the rights of people does not mean those actions are fair to all involved. Fair means fair to all, not just the chosen few.

@caring__1 Requiring voter registration and proper photo identification is not a limitation to a voter's rights. It prevents multiple voting and even the most illiterate manage to get a photo ID in order to buy alcohol and marijuana.

@Mac-One I agree 100%, as long as the registration is fairly available to all qualified voters, but that hasn't always been the case. My problem is when certain people find it hard to register. I'm registered to vote in California, but California has been more open and available for everyone than some of the old Confederate states.

Where has there been non-transparency, Eliza, and what do you mean by that? Does it means that every time a Republican loses an election they get a hand-recount because they don't trust the machine, even if the race isn't close? Or when they poll 10 people and 6 say they voted Republican, so they broadcast "we got 60% of the vote - how did we lose? This election is rigged!"

What exactly do you think isn't being done fairly, and who EVER said "fair and transparent elections are a threat to Democracy?" Who said that?
