The reason why women are seldom sent to wars (at least as infantry) is because they're a liability rather than asset:

* If a woman gets into trouble, men are prone to making irrational decisions to save them due to protector's instinct we have. This can endanger lives of the whole squad and the whole operation.

* If a man gets captured and gets tortured to death, nobody but his family cares, really. If a woman gets captured, she's now what historically being known as "spoils of war", and she's very likely to get brutally raped and videotaped as it's happening, for further use of propaganda. This can have serious political ramifications (remember Michelle Obama promoting saving kidnapped Nigerian girls?) in order to get them out, such as special forces and whatnot being sent to get them out of trouble, further putting more lives into danger; amusingly, feminists will screech the most about getting wahmyn out of captivity. Apparently, having an enemy combatant's dick in a woman is more outrageous to a society than having an enemy combatant's bullet in a man's brain.

* Women are just physically weaker, therefore they aren't as useful carrying heavy equipment for a long period of time, let alone not having enough physical strength to drag an injured man (both in full gear) out of line of fire.

the world has always been sexist since the dawn of time, throughout history and the animal kingdom, males have always been expendable and females valuable. for males to have any value, it needs to be for the benefit of females and this has been enforced socially in the modern gynocentric social order.

men are often heavily scrutinized by society even by other men on who they are, what they are, what they think, what they do etc. a small fraction of the bullshit that men deal with on a daily basis having to be a certain way, tough themselves through it and not say anything about it would make most weak-minded individuals commit suicide. in the case of many men, this cycle is repeated again and again until it destroys his psyche.

Wars aren't necessary. And we do sent women to wars. They just have to decide to go. Men don't get a choice because we're still seen as worthless if we aren't willing to spend our whole life to protect humanity. Before technological advances women didn't fight wars because physically speaking a woman body can't handle the stress and demands of fighting a war on the ground against other men.

With modern day technology women can and do fight wars from ships and air and sometimes on the ground.

Lastly, it's the responsibility of a woman to raise her kids.

Can't have two parents dying in a war and leaving the kid without a mom or dad.
