Do you get frustrated with how everything demands a rating?

I don’t know if this is just a kiwi thing, but OMG it’s so Fucken annoying to me!

You know what I’d rate highly… a business where an empowered human gives me genuine interaction based on me.. not based on a collective societal idea of how the masses should like to be treated, and then follows up with a ‘so how did I do’ just to make 100% sure you know they only did a good job for the score.

I love rating experiences because I assume the whole world wants to be treated the way I want to be treated

Well, I like it. It gives me a chance to voice what I think. I remember when they didn't have those things. If you were treated like shit, it was too bad, and there was no recourse into how to IMPROVE their quality of work! At least now they have that for businesses. They don't have those things in real life/personal life. If someone is an asshole to me, I couldn't tell them how to IMPROVE themselves haha, or maybe if they even cared to. Same with the ratings thing. It helps a lot of people decide one way or another, if they are going to go with a certain business or not. It holds them accountable for their shortcomings, and or mistakes. At least with business, they either pretend to care, or actually do, and there's a chance for them to at least improve things for the next time! 🙂

The net problem is erosion of freedom of choice of the individual and implementation of behavioral controls by governments. There is a very fine line between freedom of choice & liberty and public good order and a productive functioning society.

It’s not just a kiwi thing - it’s an American thing too. It’s very annoying to get a survey request that takes 20 minutes to complete but the interaction was for only 30-45 seconds.
