Really it comes down to Social Security taking the grand parents out of the house starting in the 40's leaving nobody to help raise the children with time tested values while the Parents were working.
That is what happened to the boomers leading to the 1960s not just in the USA but everywhere (Roosevelt made Social Security a UN requirement).
A generation or so latter millennials got it even worse when they lost their moms too. Some due to Women's Lib, most due to the inflation that followed when we could no longer finance the enormous amounts of Goverment Spending by selling Gold in 1971.
That meant for the first time in human history kids had neither parent available to raise them. Naturals a lot of them didn't turn out so well.
When they also introduce no-fault divorce and families started falling apart, things got even worse for more and more kids who didn't even have any parent available almost any time.
All of those definitely played a part but I was talking more in sense of their style of parenting “Helicopter parenting “ I believe that’s what they called it in the mid 80s late 90s
If you really think about it it's the greatest generation ever fault fighting in both world wars and getting ptsd then raising children in that mental health crisis.
With that in mind it's really REALLY the fault of cave civilization fighting mammoths and sabertooth cats figuring out the wheel, fire, and most damning being individual identity starting with a given name.

The Key revolutionary change behind all of this was the loss of the Full Family (Grandparents).

Until this happened families included not just both parents but the grand parents and frequency cousins and uncles living together for most of the population. This was the loving community that raised and educated children.
It was only ever broken rarely for parts of community and reformed not soo long afterwards.

As a culture we are on track to go extinct we can't even have enough kids to sustain our population numbers much less raise enough of them to be functional rather than self-destructive.

Well mental illness aside they weren’t as fat and had higher testosterone levels they were more active had much better social skills because they didn’t have phones or in home Wi-Fi and again they were much more respectful

@Nikki1989 Old-fashioned actually worked, what we are doing now isn't working at all. We are dying as a culture, we can't even produce enough kids to sustain our numbers much-less kids able to function successfully as adults.
That all comes down to parenting or rather a near total lack there of.
First the Boomers lost the wisdom of their grandparents with the "Nuclear family"(a direct result of the then new Social Securty system).
Their kids lost their mothers to the work force due in no small part the inflationary reality of having to pay for so many additional households. While Our kids if they are born at all are increasingly losing their fathers all together thanks to the effective abolition of marriage.

Baby boomers and millennials are mostly the bad ones. Gen X were mostly lazy, but baby boomers were the pro drug generation. Millennials are often lazy AND using drugs. Gen X and millennials were both quite promiscuous.
Baby boomers are mostly the ones controlling the majority of government that messed up society.
That show teen mom was also a great example of this I don’t know much about boomers to be honest but GenX were very narcissistic and had very high pregnancy rates because they could just leave their babies with it’s grandmother GenX just wanted to party and have fun they just gave us smartphones and neglected the hell out of us

They nonetheless had the same problems as boomers and millennials organization in the collapsing family raising system.
If you really want to go back the Revolutionary change that started it all was the collapse of the full Family in the 1940s primarily as a result of Social Securty no longer requiring them to stay together. Well I wasn’t really speaking on my specific situation but people’s parenting style’s because parents have a great influence over their children and the fact that so many of my generation are adult babies tells me that GenX parenting was half assed they’re the generation that spawned millennials and GenZ ( the pronoun people 🙄 )
