i don't have a problem with immigrants unless they are undercutting the market. and to be honest since they are illegal they don't get good jobs anyways. there is plenty of space in the usa for the entire world to live here. i just don't see hard evidence that points to illegals being to blame for crime or whatever you are alluding to. that doesn't mean it's not there
capitalists love them. when conservatives complain about how immigrants are taken they're jobs... capitalism is why. capitalism is about consolidating wealth and the immigrants are forced to work... or, I suppose that the proper term would be lave away as they are not being paid.
Immigrant fear is fundamentally valid. The immigrants who're feared are the 'illegal' immigrants. THOSE 'immigrants' perspective IS that they will do... or risk WHATEVER is 'necessary' ... legal or otherwise, to 'better' THEIR survival potential. They MIGHT... or WILL... appropriate (beg, borrow or steal) whatever a country's natives have rightfully accumulated. The VALUE of whatever they appropriate clandestinely CANNOT be repatriated except through police forced 'sweat equity'. Meanwhile, THEY have successfully SURVIVED, yet one more day. THAT IS 'pragmatic reality'.
Hard as their exodus IS... it takes less effort & risk, than to personally contribute THEIR lives to revise and rebuild the country and society THEY'RE fleeing.
The United States is reviled for 'abandoning' certain middle eastern countries but 'why' invest American lives for citizens whose OWN soldiers laid down OUR furnished arms and fled the defense of THEIR OWN country's citizens! There is a big difference between immigrants and illegal aliens. One group comes to this country according to our laws, gets a job, contributes the our economy and adopts our way of life. The other becomes a criminal as soon as they step foot on our land. Some are already criminals, some smuggle fentanyl and meth and some are carrying covid and many other diseases. Polio is making a comeback They are not just coming from Mexico but from 130 different countries. They cost taxpayers between 35 and 50 thousand dollars per person per year. Do the math and imagine what could be done with hundreds of billions of dollars that are instead squandered on these freeloaders.

I'm an immigrant myself. But as we saw in my home country unchecked immigration drives down wages. For instance the local meat factory has only Eastern European labour working for minimum wage, which are all legal immigrants. The argument many give is that native locals don't want those jobs when the truth is the factory laid off nearly the entire staff on week and replaced them with cheap foreign labour. Now local Irish people don't get a look in. Jobs in the meat factory used to be good paying jobs, now its not the case. They take the money they make out of the Irish economy and take it home to Poland, to build homes. Fair play to them, good for them, bad for us
The US should encourage legal immigration by making it easier for the workers the US economy wants or needs to get work permits and visas. As the US is such a large country this immigration legal or otherwise shouldn't just be bottled up on the boarder states but shared out evenly North and south, east and west.
It's rare to even find a British vet at a slaughterhouse either. Part of the problem is supermarkets have convinced the public that meat should be dirt cheap so these meat plants have to cut costs.
@purplepoppy if you can recruit mass amounts of foreign skilled and semi skilled workers legally and be cost effective they will every time. The building industry in Ireland was largely the same, all this foreign labour driving wages down so much that house prices sky rocket but wages stayed low. You had builders building homes they could never get a mortgage for and it all went tits up as they say in 2006 with Sean Quinn.
You're dumb as well as foreign, then. Immigration has nothing to do with wages, companies do. Companies are always looking to lower labour costs and outgoings. Bringing in cheaper agency staff is the quickest way to larger profits. Dumbasses like you cry about "foreigners" not realising it's company practices that are the problem. If it wasn't for cheap staff at the plant they would move that plant to Poland, Bulgaria or similar instead.
@jshm2 if they could move meat factories to Poland they would have but then they'd have to transport Irish cattle across the Irish sea then pay tariffs in Britain and then tariffs in turn to transport the same cattle back into the EU and then drive them all the way from calis to Poland and them transport the same beef back through Europe to England Ireland main beef customer. Canada is a loser country because it has collected the loser immigrants from the world.
UAE / Qatar is all built by cheap immigrants.
UK (some areas) is made into cities made from South Asian immigrants.
Look what North Africans have done to France.
US is also a big mix of good and bad scenarios.

Just because I believe in Yeshua haMashiakh/Jesus Christ means not that I’m Christian.
