I just got slightly annoyed at one of those "my child has cancer" commercials, and I wonder who is more in the wrong (and if it's me, be honest)?

They're more in the wrong because they're trying to emotionally manipulate you into doing things.

You're more in the wrong because you're being inconsiderate of those people with illnesses.

This isn't a right or wrong thing. They have the right to advertise and solicit in the same way that a drug company can market medication for erectile dysfunction or a car dealer can try to sell a car. It is no more emotional manipulation than when a vodka maker makes you think that their vodka will make you attractive to women or that a Louis Vuitton purse will make a woman more stylish and sexy. So, neither is wrong.

There is no wrong or right here... only judgment. They are doing nothing illegal. I personally could care less about what they or St. Jude or whomever are trying to do as that is not even on the radar of Concern.

Change the channel and don't worry about it.
