Am I hispanic or do I not count?

I would say I'm white. I have pale skin, brown hair, hazel eyes, some freckles. I am 5'2. I have mostly English, Scottish, Irish blood with German, French ancestry. I also have Spanish and Portuguese in me. I was told that I seem to look mix or have features of Spanish people but my pale skin makes it harder to see. I think they were being nice. Does the percentage of Spanish blood count? I'm just very curious.

I don't think percentage matters. Spain is in Europe and you have a good mix of other European ancestry, as well. Spanish is cool, but I don't think it defines you. You are white of European origin.

Aside from those with Moorish blood, Spanish are white. There are many blond, pale-skinned, Spaniards. Spanish speakers from the Americas, though, may be Spanish, African, indigenous, or a mixed ancestry. They and Portuguese combined are often referred to as Latin Americans because both languages evolved from Latin (Roman).

I'm mostly Irish with a bit of English, Scottish and western European. My sister has pale skin that burns easily. I, on the other hand, have more Mediterranean skin that browns really well. She looks Irish or British and I could pass for Spanish or Italian. It can be pretty hard to tell a person's ethnicity based on appearance.

Genetically speaking there is no such thing as race.

Define yourself however you please or what makes most sense, it makes no difference, none of it is real anyway and even if it were it would still only be a tool to make communicating ideas easier.

I don't understand what meaning or relevance you think this has to anything, furthermore whatever the answer to that question is has been constructed by you anyway so just do whatever you want.

I would say you are more white if anything. Even though you have Spanish in you, you still have white dominated ethnicities

Wrong. Spanish is from Spain , so you are Spanish. Hispanic is for example Puerto Rican. I have the same ethnicities as you and I still consider myself white

That's not what it says when you go to look up the definition of hispanic. Hispanic being a person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race.

@lielibe yes they are going to include Spanish in there but do you understand how much that doesn’t make any sense? Spain = Spanish. Either way you are still white. I am 100% sure your skin is white. You probably look similar to I am where I have dark hair and dark eyes

You are pale skinned because you have other ethnicities that cancel out the Spanish aspects. Are you Spanish? Yes but you are not Hispanic dominate

Trust me, I’m pale as hell 🤣 my dad has pretty tan skin and I do take after the side that is Spanish but my white ethnicities definitely took control of my skin

@Lliam if you were to do an ancestry test on people, most people would have African in them.

I did Ancestry. I'm all western European. A lot of Spanish would have some African because of Spain's proximity to Africa and the Moorish invasion.

Hispanic is an ethnicity , NOT a "race" ( which exists as a social construct, not reality) so you can be a white Hispanic (you, Gisele Bundchen, Frankie Muniz, etc.) or a black Hispanic (the late Irene Cara, Reggie "Mr. October" Jackson, Lupita Nyongo, etc.)
