The fact that most people actually have to call each other for communication. There´s no such thing as social media to buy time with since Facebook isn´t known yet world widely and instagram and other plattforms haven´t been invented yet.

None that we know of, it all depends on how long they live before waking up in the past. If it's as a infant there wouldn't be any chock. So it's all about what the future brings. Besides it's not like anything major has changed between 2006 and 2023. It's just a gradual decay of all values.

I already address phones, mp3's have been around since the 90's, youtube existed in 2006, music and fashion styles haven't changed that radically in 17 years, and most of the rest of those things are hardly consequential enough to induce culture shock. 2006 wasn't the 50's.

This is a conversation for a reason. Some people are curious what has changed in the last two decades. This was just an example. We didn’t have streaming services, we didn’t require digital crap, we had xD and DVD players, Movie Stores, Cinema, different work, store, restaurant policies. You're overstating the importance of social media as if it was something that radically transformed society like the car, tv, phone, or airplane.

if facebook, twitter, etc vanished tomorrow, I doubt society would face massive disruption. i think we'd all manage.

It has changed. I have noticed a strong difference in social media over the years. I watched YouTube when I was 7 and it wasn’t like how it was ten years ago. You just mentioned something drastic that changed.
