The MLK files will be released as late as 2027. He was a very, very bad person. People say Andrew Tate, Kanye West, even Nick Fuentes are bad, but MLK was far far worse.

A leader of all people he never chose fear but always chose courage and determination when fighting for civil rights in the face of oppression, ignorance and violence. He refused to allow prison, violence or the threat of death sway his end mission. Instead he stood beside his goal of achieving rights for all through nonviolent protests.

King maintained a vision for a more diverse America where all people enjoyed the benefits of equality. During a time when the opposition implemented legislation that withheld rights from people of colour and expressed hatred through beatings and killings. He continued to take the high road.

He realized that violence would play into the scheme of the opposition. He knew that violent retaliation would fit exactly into the assumed mold that many had formed regarding civil rights activists. Because of that, he constantly preached that nonviolence will ultimately allow the opposition to prevail.

His legacy provides a staple model for how we combat inequality today. We cannot get comfortable in our current state. Too many people are relying on us to recognize and fight the inequalities that exist today.

Odd enough, I know someone who knew him and his wife (she had been around when King was alive. She told me that King was an adulterer ("womanizer") yes, but that does not mean he didn't do great things either. One bad trait does not cancel out all the good you do in life.

If you and others are a proponent of that, then you might as well go back in a time machine to live in the 60's, where African Americans were oppressed more than they are today. If things were turned around, and YOU and other whites were the ones were being oppressed, and forced to use bathrooms for "White Only", and not allowed to drink at water fountains, use public restaurants, and so on, I don't think you'd consider it.

I support abolishing several federal holidays, including that one. Federal holidays are expensive as hell and there are too many of them. The feds give themselves twice as many holidays as the private sector. Most people work on those holidays, so should the feds.
