Everyone embellishes their resume to some extent. He already apologized and explained this very adequately. At this point I have to wonder if a lot of the hate is anti-semitic, or anti-hispanic, or anti-gay.. and the fact that this guy is a rising star in the Republican Party makes him a target for people who don't like that.

+1 yDude's momma died twice. Once on 9/11, then she resurrected herself and died again in 2017.
My man is a gay Afro-Latino Ukrainian Brazilian Catholic Jew whose mother died on 9/11 and 12/2017, whose ancestors survived the Holocaust, whose employees died in the Pulse club mass shooting, and whose net worth rose by millions overnight. . . who was just recently divorced from a woman.
He had every single group covered. He is Eddie Murphy's character from "Distinguished Gentleman". And now the cream of the crop of the Republican party. That's how far we have fallen.

Oh spare us. For starters, he's a freshman Congressman who found an utterly stale Democrat, Robert Zimmerman, to defeat at said Democrat's own game, namely, that of the phony narrative. He is hardly "the cream of the crop", that award might go to Ron DeSantis, sure, but hardly Mr. Santos.

"Santos is, whether wittingly or otherwise, doing something (the late pundit and talk show host) Rush Limbaugh used to do to great effect: he’s illustrating absurdity by being absurd." - +1 y
@Curmudgeon Oh spare you? Dude, did I force you to read my post? Get the fuck out of here. And nothing compares to the fresh trash in that dumpster of a party. You have Giant Jewish Space Lasers Greene. Child molester Gaetz who is under investigation. Boebert who just got her GED and now is a multimillionaire just months later and who's husband flashed his cock to a group of teens.
They ain't schooling the dems.
They are fleecing their sheep.
Namely you and yours.
- +1 y
Are you STILL pushing those hoaxes? Yawn. The Demunists started this. And when they do it, in real life, they NEVER get reported on in the lamestream media, let alone investigated. Even when it is as plain as day.
"Under investigation"? Investigations which to date have always been proven fruitless, bloviating by the likes of "Adam Schitt" notwithstanding.
Sure Mr. Santos is a clown, I hardly disagree on that, but the point stands: We now have a society of "Stupid Woke America" that values self-proclaimed identities over actual results or merits, and so here we are. I will agree with you that it is nauseating, but ask yourself: how did we get this way? - +1 y
If trump shits himself, the dems did it. If Boebert's husbands whips out his dick, the dems did it.
Even the most virulent lib hater can see through this bullshit.
If you fuck up. . . own it.
And investigations were great. . .
as long as they were investigating Hillary. As your boy said, he just needed an announcement of an investigation. And he would lead his sheep to the promised land.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't understand why people are shocked a that a politician lies to get elected?
How are theses lies any different from the countless others politicians tell, how are they even comparable to the lies about what they would do in office if elected?07 Reply- +1 y
You do know the difference between fraud and telling a lie to get elected, right? As for your larger point about politicians in general. Sure politicians lie or embellish. But everyone has their standards for what is a deal breaker for them.
And I guess your suggestion is to have perfection or no standards at all, which I do not understand.
Opinion Owner+1 y@RolandCuthbert If there were a standard of any sort it would be whether or not they keep their election promises as that alone is what matters most for a politician, NOT where they came from.
Keeping their policy comments is the whole point of their office, where they came form is just credentialism that might allegedly tell us such.- +1 y
That is exactly not what I asked. There is a legal standard for fraud. That is an issue for the law.
As for some universal standard for what people accept. . . I mean you don't think that whole concept is just silly?
You are saying people should not upset if a politician lied to them. That just sounds weird. Some folks might love being lied to. Others may not. And still others may only care about the type of lie being told.
Different strokes for different folks.
Opinion Owner+1 y@RolandCuthbert Althou in a perfect world people would always tell the truth. In the world you live in politicians almost never tell the truth. So getting upset about lies not even related to his ability to do the job is not worth it.
- +1 y
No one is trying to make the world perfect. They just reject your reasoning that just because one Congressman has no standards, then you cannot demand any moral or ethical standards at all. Franken was dismissed for making a crude sexual joke about a staffer. Meehan was dismissed for having sex with a prostitute. . . which to me is a much less offensive issue. Esty was dismissed because she employed a staffer who threatened to kill his girlfriend. Fortenberry just last year was forced to resign. . . for lying FBI. I am not sure why you pretend that people can't demand certain things from their Congressmen.
In fact, it is not even a rational position.
Opinion Owner+1 y@RolandCuthbert
Franken resigned for grabbing a woman's private parts, as did Meehan indicating their judgement that their own people did not feel that was worthy of their representative.
That said I know imperialist gave congress gave itself the power to refuse to seat members i still think said power is wrong and should never be used. I don't think congress has any right to dismiss any of theses elected representatives for any reason.
A representatives by definition do not represent congress but the people/State who voted for them. People who notably are NOT represented among the political dismissing them.
Therefore resignation or recall is the only legitimate answer representing said people.
- +1 y
You mean Franken decided all by himself that he should resign? Meehan made the same decision?
They resigned because their peers told them they did not have any support in their current position. They were punished for ethical/moral lapses. They were not convicted of crimes.
I don't think you have thought this through. Because your position is not only that Santos deserves his seat, but that no one can be upset with him because other politicians have lied. That is simply not a sane argument.
As for not dismissing a congressmen, your position is not supported by the Constitution. The Constitution outlines when a congressman can be kicked out. And beyond that, no Congressman can get away with breaking the law.
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yIf its a republican or conservative any abuse or hate that may be racist or antisemitic or Islamaphobic or anti-hispanic or homophobic or sexist is allowed because they are Republican or conservative according to liberals and left wingers.

As Democrats say that about everything every Conservative/republican, you know it to them it only means they don't agree with your politics.
This makes it rather difficult for them to tell us about the real thing

If I hire you because you tell me you went to Harvard and after the fact I find out you went to community college, I may not fire you outright, but my respect for you and my trust in you is shot forever. I wouldn’t be looking to re-up your contract, that’s for sure. Why believe ANYTHING you say?
I don’t think this is the hill you want to die on, man. Call him a con artist, hide him and ride out the two years, and try again in 2024 with someone else.

"is George Santos the scandal? Hardly.
Think of Santos as a performance artist. He’s like the NASCAR driver who, seeing a wreck in front of him as he comes out of a turn and enters the straightaway, follows the old advice: pick a line and drive through it.
Santos picked his line very well, knowing that if he did he would escape any media scrutiny at all. Say you’re a Wall Street whiz, that you’re gay and Jewish and that you come from Holocaust survivors, and that you’re a 9/11 victim, if only by proxy.
Say all of that and nobody in the mainstream media, not even in New York, will bother to challenge any of it.
And even if they do, so what? None of those lies are fatal. We already know they aren’t.
If they were, then Liz Warren would be long gone from the U. S. Senate. But of course she isn’t. Donald Trump called her Pocahontas for four years, pointing out her utterly fraudulent self-identification as a Cherokee, and it was Trump who was offensive (according to the Leftist media) in the bargain, not Warren.
And as to gender and sexuality, you haven’t been allowed to challenge the self-identification of others for quite some time. Unless they claim to be straight, that is.
George Santos read the room. He realized that Stupid Woke America values “diversity” over competence or merit, and so he fed Stupid Woke America what it wanted.
He’s a Brazilian still under investigation for having stolen checks from an old man his mother was taking care of and buying himself a lot of nice swag with the loot. In this respect he’s pretty similar to Gisele Fetterman, another Brazilian grifter who made her way to the East Coast and from there to Washington’s halls of power. Gisele did it better; she found a simpleton on whose coattails she could ride in order to become a de facto, and soon, de jure, U. S. senator.
But every grift is different. So there’s that.
Is Santos’ campaign funding a legitimate scandal? He was bankrolled by something called the Devolder Organization, an entity about which little is known, and it seems to account for his entire fortune. It smells as though Santos is somebody’s puppet in Congress, and this is almost certainly a bad thing.
But now the mainstream media has centered upon Santos as the personification of everything that’s wrong in American politics, and for this reason and this reason alone, he’s worth defending.
To those incompetent fishwraps and propaganda shops now howling about the newest proven liar in Congress: spare us.01 Reply- +1 y
You’re all liars without conscience and have been for years. You’ve covered up the never-ending falsehoods, biographical and otherwise, of the rich, powerful, and connected in this country since long before Watergate, all under the deceitful pretense of “objective journalism.” You protected Liz Warren. You protected John Fetterman. You perpetuated Cory Booker and Da Nang Dick Blumenthal. You invented Barack Obama, whose almost unfathomable and highly destructive rise could never have happened without an outright and open disinformation campaign to hide his background and beliefs.
Obama was president for eight years and had a half-dozen major scandals running practically every day he was in office, from the New Black Panthers to the Pigford cases to the IRS’ targeting of conservative organizations to Benghazi to Fast and Furious and beyond, and the media let him get away with the claim of a “scandal-free” administration.
And Joe Biden, who is merely a continuation of Obama’s reign atop the slag heap that is our nation’s capital, is an aging, non compos mentis machine crook who has lied about more items in his own background than George Santos could have ever dreamed of doing.
The media never bothered investigating Tara Reade’s allegations against Biden. These clowns went along with those 51 professional liars and villains, from Michael Hayden to James Clapper, who swore on the basis of abject lies that the Hunter Biden laptop reporting was “Russian disinformation.” They went along with the lies of the leftist public health bureaucrats who needlessly shut the country down over COVID-19, and did so for the same political reasons they always do.
And I’m supposed to care that George Santos came up right under their noses with lies about his background that more or less meet the bog standard of today’s Democrat Party?
Really?
Santos deserves a medal. Maybe he’s the most brazen liar in D. C. now. If we’re going to punish him for it, then that line begins on the left.
