If there is a "cost of living crisis" then why are there so many people driving, shopping and eating out at restaurants and bars?

The underlying economy and the accumulated wealth is enough to get through the inflation.

We've been through high inflation before and we'll go through it again. Inflation now is very high. I don't know what the "official" numbers are, but those number are BS anyway. I just know that prices have skyrocketed. However I don't think it's as bad as the late 70s-early 80s. We got through that fine, and we'll get through the current wave fine. The country today is a lot richer than it was back then.

Because there is a big difference between "cost of living crisis" and "great depression 2.0" that you think it as.

Things are a bit more expensive, but most people can still absorb the cost.

I know right? I've noticed that everything is more expensive but some people don't care. They're still living as if there was no inflation. I believe that the crisis is only for people who were already facing a financial crisis.

Because they've been cooped up in their homes for 2 years. Not good for mental health.

Because plenty are rich enough to be unaffected and others have enough limit to stick it on credit cards, next year will be hard for them
