Why do people think that there is a "cost of living crisis" when there quite clearly isn't?

There is no "cost of living crisis"

If there was a cost of living crisis then you wouldn't see that many people out at bars, nightclubs or at the airport going on holiday. All I hear about is people saying that they barely have any money but yet the roads are always packed with people going places. Also the roads are packed with mostly SUVs that are gas guzzlers which most people who drive them don't need. If people really didn't have the money then they would be driving smaller cars with better fuel economy (or they wouldn't be driving a car at all) and they wouldn't be eating out or going on holiday. People have money they just don't want to admit it. I'm not saying that everybody is like this as I know that there are people out there who can't afford to go to nightclubs and holiday but for the vast majority of people they have the money and they have no right complain about the "cost of living crisis".
