1. It will only take a single congressperson, acting in what is known as a Jeffersonian Motion, to move to remove the Speaker if he or she goes back on their word or policy agenda.

2. A “Church” style committee will be convened to look into the weaponization of the FBI and other government organizations (presumably the CIA, the subject of the original Church Committee) against the American people.

3. Term limits will be put up for a vote.

4. Bills presented to Congress will be single subject, not omnibus with all the attendant earmarks, and there will be a 72-hour minimum period to read them.

5. The Texas Border Plan will be put before Congress. From The Hill: “The four-pronged plan aims to ‘Complete Physical Border Infrastructure,’ ‘Fix Border Enforcement Policies,’ ‘Enforce our Laws in the Interior’ and ‘Target Cartels & Criminal Organizations.'”

6. COVID mandates will be ended as will all funding for them, including so-called “emergency funding.”

7. Budget bills would stop the endless increases in the debt ceiling and hold the Senate accountable for the same.

1. It's good... Assuming it won't be abused, which it certainly will be, eventually. It's especially bad for McCarthy though because while his publicly proclaimed stances are very far to the right, he frequently folds over and backs out of promises, and very few people think he's sincere about much of anything.

2. Pointless if it doesn't actually do anything. Congressional "investigations" tend to be little more than campaigning for the next cycle. Without holding the senate, or any executive power, that's pretty much all that can happen.

3. There's no way that will pass, but it'll make a lot of people look like power-hungry maniacs when they vote against it, or make idiotic arguments against it. A legitimate argument that I expect to be made against it is that it'll effectively solidify congressional power in the hands of the staffers behind the scenes who aren't beholden to such limits, but it's also worth mentioning that this would require a constitutional amendment, and there's no way that the overwhelming majority stretching both parties is onboard with it. It will kill the careers of several swampy house members especially on the Republican side when their voters turn against them though, so even if it only takes out a couple, it would be better than nothing.

4. Very good, but it won't pass. Too many people in both parties rely on ramming their sh*t through, hidden in those huge bills. To put it bluntly, it's a small minority of politicians (almost exclusively Republicans) who sincerely care about getting spending under control.

7. See above but again 0% that passes because the Senate would also have to vote to castrate themselves in the process.

The most probable, best case scenario is that this will force a lot of politicians to show their true colors on record, and plausibly see a revolt from their voters (that are paying attention anyway) who will primary them out next cycle. Realistically speaking though, I don't expect more than half a dozen congressmen to actually lose their seats over any of this.

Most of this is gibberish. Term limits won't happen. The investigations into the FBI/CIA/DOJ will be stonewalled for a decade and will go nowhere. As long as Scramble Brains Joe is in office none of these measures will see any real action beyond a few televised and irrelevant hearings. Nothing will change. It will take people with pitchforks burning down the capital before real change will occur.
