Has the world become worse than it was many years ago? Or is it still the same, but now, the information travels fast and it actually reaches us?

I mean, we hear/see news of sexual assaults and other crimes. Have these crimes become more common now or they were common earlier too, but the media was not there at that time?

Serial Killers have always existed, but I am thinking there were fewer? Not really sure.

People have always had sick and twisted minds (from what I can tell, more likely of the white/caucasian race, no offense lol). Either that, or maybe it's just reported more? I hardly ever hear of Asian or MUSLIM, etc. that are sociopaths or serial killers and rapists. It's always usually BLACK men or some mentally derranged white guy. Either he's also a school shooter, etc. I think Asians and Mexicans, maybe aside from drug lords, gangs and whatnot, they tend to commit less crime because they are more CONSERVATIVE? Your average Mexican or Asian that is.

It seems like it. but we haven't had nearly as high as technology as we do nowadays everyone has a camera on their phone, and they can record everything that goes on.

many years ago... it was your choice and decision to go sit in front of a TV, to get a newspaper, or to be by the radio even and then listen to some news

the difference with today, is that it is no longer your choice, anywhere and everywhere you go and at ALL times... your phone is going to bombard you with information, and there are literally hundreds of companies paying media to get you pay attention to them... see this, check this, hear this... look at this...

and then yes... a few things are the usual way to get people's attention

bad news, controversial news, dumb things... and sex

Not really sure but what am I sure of is how it makes me sick. Something else that I’m sure of is how not funny it is. I caught Uber one day and this female Uber driver told me how another female Uber driver was kidnapped by a guy. Old men and women 2-3 times my age doing that crap to young people. I really don’t see what’s funny about that

From time to time I hear what’s on going on the news and what I hear makes me mad. I couldn’t sit down and ever watch it cause it would disgust me and make me more mad

i think it has a lot to do with the fact that victims of sexual assault are feeling more empowered in todays world, specifically with the me too movement. sexual assault is a crime where the victim is often ashamed and therefore doesn’t report or speak of the crimes against them, and that is why it seems to have increased now with people becoming more comfortable speaking about it. also people are more educated on the subject and better able to identify their own experiences as sexual assault where they may have previously not recognized that that’s what it was.

I believe it's getting worse but at the same time we get the news faster. Violence and evil are part of human history, but now it seems that people are losing empathy and respect for each other. I feel for babies and children of the 21st century.

I think they have become more easily to recognize or identify. And lotta things are out in the open versus back then most things are private in a secret. Especially things within families.

No, it's definitely gotten more violent and more woke. But I think the level of greed and selfishness has remained the same
