Do you think this country scares you to even go outside?

So recently in this past week I've heard non stop crime around my neck of the woods. I live next a shithole city full of crime each night. I follow lots of local neighborhood watch groups and the scanner radio. Sometimes i feel scared to go out on my own now even to the grocery store.

Where I lived there was a lot of random gunshots popping off at night. It was pretty scary to go outside at night.

I have noticed, when Americans are visiting Germany they need a week to „decompress“ and drop the constant panic mode. They all said how nice it is to walk around outside, day or night, without fear of guns, gangs or crazy people.

When I am out an about, I have one of these in my side pocket, specially when I use an outside ATM or pump gas. Blast Stun Knuckles.

You'd have to know it was coming to protect yourself from becoming zapped.

I don't live in the US, but living there I'd be afraid of going outside and getting mugged, or staying inside and post something that will "cancel" me.

I would just feel I have to be careful on every step.

I have no fear to go outside, where I live... the only time I'm a little concerned is when I go into the big liberal cities that are soft on crime... which I avoid as much as I can.

Rural America has a pretty low crime rate.

It must be hard to live your area, you should move if you can. I don't feel scared when I go out, but I avoid going out at the night unless I'm not alone. By the way, I don't live in the United States.

I don't where you live, but in my country it is mostly generally safe to go out, with some well-known notable location exceptions that seem to be the focus of most violent crimes.
