Yes, the bird flu is a real thing and the fact that Frank Perdue helped bankroll Bidens election really had nothing to do with it. That being said, all forms of smuggling at the southern border should be stopped , not just eggs.

I’d need to know more. Is this because of the Avian Flu? Might be looking to stop disease from coming into the country. Fentanyl is here with or without Mexico’s help. I usually hear most people speaking disparagingly of people who die from fentanyl OD’s, until they die from a fentanyl OD. Then they go from “loser druggie”, in many people’s opinions, to “tragic victim” overnight. It’s all very disingenuous. Also tends to be a white people problem, very often, as Fentanyl tends to be cut with kind traditionally “white people drugs.” Crack was ripping through black communities in the 80s, and all the white folks were like “Just say NO!” and the cops sent the fiends the caught for possession to jail, not rehab. Not even totally a racial thing obviously, but it’s an aspect, as I see it, plus our overall approach to drugs in this country is kind of fucking crazy to start with.

There is more to this question that meets the eyes. American chickens have virus' right now, such as Bird Flu and Newcastle disease. There have been 57,000 chickens euthanized so that means an egg shortage. Mexico is trying to take advantage of this, and is smuggling eggs from Mexico. It is against the law to bring eggs from Mexico to USA.

Okay, let's think this through:

-what disease is currently ripping through the US bird population, including its chickens? Bird flu. A disease that's twice as deadly as smallpox.

-And why is this disease not also ripping through our human population? Because bird flu can only spread to humans through contact with an infected bird.

-And what mass-consumed idiocy stands ready to change that? The mutagenic Thalidomide that the last two Presidential administrations have been pushing like it was going out of style.

Does a disease with an IFR of 60% that can jump from human to human and is as contagious as Covid sound like fun to you?

@DubiousIntentions Yes. It had been used as a cancer drug for years when someone suggested using it to treat morning sickness. Several countries in Europe leapt on the idea, but the FDA said no, we need to do proper testing on it first. The Europeans scoffed; it was already a proven drug- what could go wrong? Well, funnily enough I've never heard how well it worked for dealing with morning sickness, but you've seen- or at least heard- of what it did to the babies.

Likewise, mRNA shots have a LONG history in medical research- none had ever been approved for use on humans before, because the death rate on test animals was horrific. When Trump said he was rushing approval to get his "vaccines" out, I was horrified- I thought that for once, the stupid media bias against the man would do some good, since NOBODY would let that go through; there are doctors still practicing today who saw Thalidomide's effects within their lifetimes.

I guess that'll teach me to underestimate human stupidity.

We do need more eggs, and cheap chicken feed. that is easily solved by the people if people are willing to think.

We have the same problem as Ukraine... there is no good defineable border and it's open, so someone else is challenging it, jus so happens it's the whole of the south america and somewhat, the world.

Good news, we have some new neighbors whom are offsetting the population declines, that's a net benefit over other countries that demographically going to implode! Bad news, they need a lot of training to be highly productive and pay back what is being confiscated of your wealth by way of inflation.

Time to open up churches, fund them, and hope they can absorb large numbers.

Actually makes some kind of sense. My parents have and operate 6 chicken houses for moypark. They have to shower in and out and can't keep any fowl birds like turkeys or ducks like they used too. 3 years ago they lost all the chickens due to disease. I believe the US government has a policy about bringing unregulated food into the country for similar reasons. I also think some states have a thing about moving fruit or vegetables between states. Food security I guess is very important.

The US has been fighting a war on drugs for decades and never won a battle yet. Fentanyl is attractive to those living in impoverished conditions because it offers them escape and those suffering from medical problems that their healthcare won't pay for.

Until America citizens stop injecting, sniffing and popping drugs the war on drugs is a lost cause. Better to spend less on enforcement and more on drug treatment and drug awareness.
