Leave your friends behind the next time the car breaks down, and find some new ones. If it was their car, send them a bill for the labor. I think about $200 should cover that. Of course, parts are extra, don't forget to add that cost too.
The reason they give you a hard time about it is because they know it gets to you. Stop showing them that it bothers you, stop reacting, and they'll eventually lose interest. This teasing sounds like they're still in high school, and you are too, to the extent that you allow it to bother you.
If I were your wife, I'd have left the entire lot of you standing on the curb as I peeled out in the fixed car. And if I were your wife, I'd also stop fixing anything around the house, and start hiring people to fix things when they broke. I think you'd probably get the point somewhere about the $500-$1000 range.

First, I'm gonna give you props on landing a wife who is a mechanic. That's a great find brother! Second, learn how to fix shit! Honestly, the last thing anyone wants to do after work is more of the same work at home. So take a class or whatever, learn how to be a handyman around the house. She will be impressed if your work is good, you'll be happier, and your friends won't be making fun of you anymore. And if they do, just tell them your wife can kick their ass. She probably can, and that'll shut em' up.
Well you apologize to your wife then immediately point out to your friends that none of your friends could repair it either. You have to get over that. She is your wife and there is a lot more to that than what your friends make fun of you for. If it is that big of deal ask her to teach you stuff so you can have the same skills as her.

You can't do anything but just accept your wife for who she is. Yeah your friends may bash you, but who cares. That is your wife! The woman that you love and are going to spend the rest of your life with. Most woman can't do that so be proud of her! If your friends say anything just say some smart remark back and kind of brag! For example, say, " Yeah, that's my wife and that is not the only thing she is good at!" haha! :]
