LOL When I was in college, I had a "clunker" type of car. When I was 23 and in grad school, I was dating a lady who was 19 and from a well-to-do family. Going out to my car for our first date, I pulled the keys from my pocket and waked up to someone's Porsche, like that was the car that we were going to get into. Then I said, "Kidding!" and we went to my clunker. She laughed. I don't think it bothered her at all.

After I graduated I rented a car to go up and visit her. That certainly was a step up... LOL... Then after that I had the money saved for a better car.

Nope I’m not that shallow.

Also a guy my ex wife date made the mistake of commenting on her car.

Thing is it was kicking out 600 plus BHP as she had heavily modified the ‘family’ car lol.

it’s hysterical how views change on your car.

of I drive my M4 I get certain comments and looks, if I drive my Golf R I get another, etc with other cars.

it’s just incredibly shallow and low intelligence to be embarrassed etc

Not at all. My husband has a 2007 Honda Civic. Goes from point A to point B!
I ride motorcycle myself. Coming from Taiwan, where I mostly rode a scooter. So it's nice to have a vehicle with heat during the winter when it's simply too cold. He drives me to work, so I can stay warm

ha! no I've never cared. when I met my wife she drove a beast up Ford aspire - where the "pire" was rubbed off... so she basically drove a Ford As (s)... now she drives a brand new Denali diesel.
