Although there is no law prohibiting it, the policy is not to charge, and by extension, try a sitting president. What happens if Trump is charged in the Georgia case and then is reelected? He was charged as a private citizen, so he doesn't have the protection of being a sitting president in criminal proceedings. Could he be tried? He was charged without the functional immunity given by being POTUS.
Not to worry, Trump won't be reelected. He lost big in 2020 and will lose by even more if he runs in 2024. Demographics are running against him. There are more Democratic voters and fewer Republican voters every day. Georgia, Arizona, and North Carolina are purple states turning bluer by the day.

If he's charged in Georgia or anywhere else, his legal team will delay any trial until after the 2024 election, so that he would not be tried as a sitting President. The earliest the trial could be is late January 2029, at which time he would request no trial due to his advanced age.
In short, Trump may be charged but it's very unlikely that he will ever be tried.

If he is found guilty of a felony, there are states in which he could not even run for office. But he could run for president of the US. Gotta be a Republican thing.
I think this is a good question that I don't know the answer to. I hope that they will just charge him soon. Plus he will lose if he ran. The Republicans are turning on him
No president current or former is above the law at least the theory.
He'll just pardon himself.
Aren't you the guy who said you'll die if you contract even one strand of the COVID virus in your system?
Good Q. Not sure. It would require a district attorney with big balls…or a female with big balls…
