This isn't "fake science", it's just science. Empirical data and open minded questioning that doesn't fit in with a person's dogma, religion, or other subjective ideology doesn't invalidate it. There are multiple perspectives out there, and to insist that only one is "the true way" is the definition of close-minded.

It's not a matter of "denying biological sex is binary", as the text clearly illustrates and gives rationale and examples of OBSERVATIONS. I'm curious which of these observations you think is "fake". Is it that "Some individuals are born with intermediate sexual ("intersex") characteristics"? Or that "... anatomical features (that) don't match with the individual's sense of their own gender"? or some other passage? It is a conspiracy that some reptile eggs are influenced by temperature?

It's pretty simple, written so that children can understand it, and it's very scientific, stating specific examples in nature.

I think you're up in arms against it because it doesn't fit into your paradigm, and so you want to chalk it up as "fake" or wrong in some way. But not liking something, doesn't make it false. You might not like that some people have anatomical features that don't match with their sense of their own gender, but that doesn't make them liars or mentally unstable. People have been fighting for years over whether black people were actually human or just some lesser animal, or if women deserved rights the same as a man or if they were a lesser being.

Regarding a different topic, one of my kiddos tried to point out what was in the assigned textbook reading and said, "But it's in the textbook," therefore it must be true. Then I showed my kids the rewritings of textbooks by politicians and how curriculum is chosen.

I don't think people are completely stupid. The biggest problem I see is the lack of critical thinking. Critical thinking is not tolerated in classrooms and has been replaced with group think.

The parents of trans kids that I've heard from, were not trying to inculcate their children and pushed back when their children told them they wanted to be the opposite sex, for obvious reasons. Transitioning can make your life harder than it needs to be, one would think. But these parents said that transitioning brought their child to life in a way they wouldn't have imagined before the process.

Now I'm not personally a fan of children transitioning. But I don't get to decide how other people parent their children and neither do you. Other than your personal affront to transsexuals I see no reason not to let other people live their lives in the best way they know how.

It is poor science or rather non science. Gametes are either male or female and defines sex. There is no intersect where gametes are 50% male and 50% female. You might have continuums of physical appearance but that is not sex. It is highly binary as to whether a person produces ova or sperm.
