There are different degrees of corruption, though OBVIOUSLY, none are really good. In the UK, politicians having "affairs" are rather commonplace. In the US, it's sort of a big deal, which is ironic compared to the other shit that goes on.

But it's one thing to accept a campaign contribution that "may or may not" present a conflict of interest. It's an entirely different thing to attempt to leverage a foreign government's aid package in order to get dirt on your political opponent. Or to pardon or commute the sentences of your friends who pled guilty to perjury in order to protect your other crimes.

Obsessed? LOL We have a 2 party system here, both corrupt to varying degrees. Many believe you choose the lesser of two evils. Others believe it makes no "real" difference in the end because all politicians are pawns. Since I LIVE here, and have experienced how the laws, benefits and conditions can change depending on who is in power, I opt to choose the lesser of the evils as they present themselves, being fully aware of the lack of moral high ground for either.
